Could be he just filled his Depends at an inopportune time.
He looked like he was doing a little of the Nadler Shuffle there at the end -

I joked about robots too, but seriously he seems like he is suffering from dementia or possibly even Parkinsons.
My dad would stop mid speech just like that so many times and have blank eyes. It would take a few minutes for him to shake it off too.

Dude is old!

Looked to me to be an episode of Aphasia.

Aphasia can be caused by brain damage such as might result from head injury. McConnell did suffer a concussion in a fall some time ago.

He waited for an hour to speak,
and finally got the chance.

But halfway through the press conference, the sumbitch pooped his pants.

For god sakes we need some term or age limits. We can’t have these octogenarians in charge of our future anymore. What a joke our government is.

I agree with term limits but not age limits, that's discrimination.

Bernie Sanders is older than McConnell, so is Chuck Grassley, and they are both as sharp and as mentally agile as they were 10 years ago. Age is relative, terms are not.

Two 6 year terms would be just fine for senators.

amazing how everyone agrees on this item, but it's never brought up as a bill.

How about we let the voters decide who to send to DC?

If they want to be represented by an ancient old coot, isn't that called democracy?

And some old coots can get it done. So let the people decide.

Not exactly a surprise, is it?

Turns out all the old MFERS running the government had Alzheimer's.

Kinda weird to watch.

Not knowing what the press conference was about, I could imagine any scenario...

I imagined that something profoundly horrible for the American people had just been agreed upon, and McConnell's brain froze up at the lie he was going tell about it. He just couldn't do it. Sometimes, even the most evil people have a line they will balk at, and he truly looks like he does not want to be there. He looks sad and pathetic.

In the end, it appears he never spoke about what he was going to say... just moved forward.

Noted: It also appears the gentleman over Mitch's right shoulder is the one in charge.

I'm fine with that, as long as you can trust the elections... which we can't right now...

The real issue isn't term limits, it's a voting problem, if the stupid masses want more of the same inadequacy then they will vote for the same inadequacy.

Not when age comes with mental aptitude deterioration .

How about no...

Just because one or two are spry doesn't mean there isn't mental decline occurring, after 65 you need a cognitive and or aptitude test.

Hell, I think they ought to take them every year regardless of age then no discrimination.

2 6 year terms aren't exactly very limiting how about 2 4 or 5-year terms, Senators and Congresspersons weren't supposed to be lifelong careers.

Take George Washington for Example he was the First President he served two four year terms and said " Yep that's enough " and stepped away . Never to hold public office again.

Senators and Congressman should have seen this as the prime example , Because unlimited terms Breeds pure corruption.

Unlikely to have been a stroke.

His colleague, apparently the one who asked if their was anything else Mitch wanted to say, is a doctor.

If a stroke had been suspected, the doctor would have run the FAST (Face, Arm, Speech, Time.) protocol.

Since Mitch showed no stroke signs in his face or arm, the protocol was bypassed.

I'm sorry I just finished laughing .

His colleague is a Politician First then a Doctor .

and if you think for a second he would have run the FAST in front of cameras literally confirming a stroke to the world then you are beyond naive.
