The injunction came in response to a lawsuit brought by Republican attorneys general in Louisiana and Missouri, who allege that government officials went too far in their efforts to encourage social media companies to address posts that they worried could contribute to vaccine hesitancy during the pandemic or upend elections.

The injunction was a victory for the state attorneys general, who have accused the Biden administration of enabling a “sprawling federal ‘Censorship Enterprise’” to encourage tech giants to remove politically unfavorable viewpoints and speakers, and for conservatives who’ve accused the government of suppressing their speech.

The judge, Terry A. Doughty, has yet to make a final ruling in the case, but in the injunction, he wrote that the Republican attorneys general “have produced evidence of a massive effort by Defendants, from the White House to federal agencies, to suppress speech based on its content.”

Judge Blocks Biden Administration From Further Meddling With Social Media Companies

Where are the old school Democrats speaking out about government censorship? Bill Maher has a couple times. Other than that … crickets.

Republicans love to complain but have done less than nothing… other than fundraise.

Libertarians… well we’re mostly useless at getting elected. Thus impotent.

We are well and truly screwed.

These Trump judges are doing some brief good, but seems like most of these cases get subverted before the end.

Guess I’m too black pilled to hope.

About time!

So the judge wants to censor the Administrative Branch? LOL Good luck with that!

Unless internet search engines and social media sites become public utilities, I don't see the courts standing a chance of stopping them from collaborating with the Feds on content.

This is a job for Congress. They need to amend or repeal Section 230. en.wikipedia.org...

But this isn't new. The government has been dictating music, movie and TV content since day one!

Billy Holiday was arrested for singing "Strange Fruit". Ronny Reagan and Bob Hope were making pro-war movies. The TV-Guide line ups have consistently been filled with Police shows, CIA spy shows, FBI, fire and EMT, NCIS, JAG, Law and Order, and on and on and on. That's no coincidence. It's not an entertainment bug, it's a feature.

yes, and thank God the courts have realized that the government has no right to dictate what a private business does.
We no longer have to worry about being silenced on Twitter for speaking about natural immunity, or noticing that the vaccinated people are spreading covid. Or that the laptop the FBI had already verified as real and belonging to Hunter can be openly discussed and not dismissed out of hand as another Russia hoax. This was a win for America and Americans.

Right, but this is private business voluntarily doing what' s in the government's interest. No doubt the government is making it worth their while.

Twitter can do whatever it wants, ban whatever kind of speech it wants. Same with Facebook, Reddit and ATS. Google and Microsoft can hide or push whatever they want. If the government makes the big players' job easier and more lucrative, that's just capitalism.

That is, until Congress steps up.

Very true . That was well stated . The person you’re conversing with doesn’t believe in free speech . Mao had the same ideas as her.

Yea, when it happens, and it will, seeing your reaction will be priceless. And by "it" I refer to the pendulum swinging back the other direction and the progressive message being silenced. It won't be any more "correct", but it will happen none the less.

The same folks that would use the Constitution as a tampon and laugh and say it's outdated are the same folks that will wrap themselves in a flag, sing "God Bless America" if their rights are infringed.

It would actually be shocking to see anyone on the left support speech that they disagree with.

What amendment do people on the left like? Not the 1st , 2nd , 4th or 14th . Do they like others ?

no, that scares the # out of me. Nobody wants to see the dark side of a million pissed off rednecks. But someone has been pushing the pendulum up the hill trying to make women into men and may have finally reached the apex. I pray for the ignorant.

Amendments enumerate individual freedoms and liberties. The Bill of Rights and Constitution restrict government, so they pretty much don't like anything in it.

Government (Trump and Biden's) DOJ / State Dept / DHS / HHS, et al, hid important information about the Biden Crime Family and propagated lies about Covid-19.

Essentially using "ignorance" and "fear" to usher low-IQ Joe Biden into the White House. Americans are not REALLY as unwise and illogical as we appeared to be when putting Joe Biden in charge of our country in November 2020.

Multiple forms of cheating/fraud working together, are responsible for what we're now cursed with.

The government has now appealed the stay saying it’s destroying Democracy.

Link

The government’s stay request thus clearly lays out that the government views its purported defense of “democracy” as trumping American citizens’ constitutionally protected rights.

I don’t like this “democracy" they keep exposing, especially as it needs such control.

Glad I live in a Republic. I hope "their democracy" is quickly extinguished, and our Republic lives on.

It's so blatant, and they have no shame. The BIDEN Admin appealed the Judge's ruling that they had to stop working with Social Media Companies to damage Republicans/Conservatives.

The Appeals court denied the request for reconsideration this morning.

Not accepting "NO!" as an answer, the Biden Administration has filed ANOTHER appeal this afterooon!

See here: www.foxnews.com...

Democrats really were counting on using Social Media to help keep Joe Biden in office, weren't they?

They are pissed that they can't control the narrative or free speech.
