I see. So Breaking Alternative News means NO NO NO to mainstream news sources.

Exactamundo! We're trying to give the smaller outlets a hand up and stay true to the name of the forum category.

Isn't favoritism a form of censorship?

Is it "favoritism" to give a voice to the unheard?

In my Opinon is, re-affirmation of the forum emphasize its significance as a vital space for sharing and exploring unconventional, timely news and viewpoints. It reaffirms the forum's dedication to fostering open dialogue and engaging discussions, providing a valuable platform for individuals to voice varied opinions and share lesser-known news. This review ensures the continued relevance and authenticity of the forum, underscoring its importance as a channel for information beyond the conventional, enhancing the diversity and richness of the platform's content and discussions.

While the idea of choosing alternative news is a great idea for both sides, that is if both sides actually are willing to entertain the other side's views, then we all still need to do the hard work of fact checking that alternative source as being properly investigated.

If one's bias does not allow one to accept any other real or imagined news/source as being factual then we end up in the same place here, that being stubbornly holding on to what we chose to believe and not allowing any other point of view to have any merit at all.

So along with open mindedness, fact checking and some resources, we all may be able to sort out the wheat from the chaff. Hopefully.

The Poynter Institute offers a way for us to learn how to fact check.

PolitiFact is another way to us to get other perspectives for your/our consideration.

YouTube and Google invest in fact checking.

From the little I've read so far it seems Instagram, Facebook, Tik Tok and the like are to be avoided as they are most likely biased opinion pieces.

Bitchute and Rumble are alternative news/opinion sites which are identified as more Republican leaning but that does not mean they can be dismissed outright.
