I remember the best advice from a financial advisor before I took out my first home loan, interest rates were about 7 percent.

The advice was “on your mortgage repayments base your repayments on an interest rate of 13 percent”

I was paying extra, this made me disciplined, and I was mentally and financially prepared for higher rates.

Benefit was the loan was paid off faster, the excess was available for redraw.

I have done this for any loan I have ever taken out.
Just to cover me for a rainy day.

Though one great leader was stupid! Now blaming the states debt due to rate rises.

This guy deals with billions and couldn’t factor in rate rises.

What the hell is Tim palace doing as treasurer doesn’t consider interest rate rises, just as stupid.

!

These days getting angry at stupid people who do stupid things that are in charge of our precious life is just mentally terrorizing us bit by bit.
