“We are beyond devastated to see World Athletics succumbing to political pressure instead of core principles of inclusion, fairness and non-discrimination for transgender athletes and athletes with intersex traits,” said Hudson Taylor, Founder and Executive Director of Athlete Ally. “The guidelines announced today go against inclusive guidelines from the International Olympic Committee as well as extensive research showing that transgender women do not have an inherent advantage in sport. Sebastian Coe states that these guidelines are an attempt to protect women’s sport, but in fact these guidelines do nothing to address what we know to be the actual, proven threats to women’s sports: unequal pay, rampant sexual abuse and harassment, lack of women in leadership and inequities in resources for women athletes.

Transgender University of Pennsylvania swimmer Lia Thomas was crushed twice in a women's swim meet by another transgender competitor who is transitioning from female to male. She is seen leaving the pool area after losing her final competition at the swim meet on Saturday

I find this hilarious. I guess there's more than one way to skin a cat.

After searching further, it appears there might have been collusion between the two on this to lessen the negative attitude on Thomas who is miles ahead of the other women and winning all competitions.

Smart move tbh. Really isn't fair watching men beat the crap out of women in some of the fighting competitions. Because those men need to abuse power over women to feel good about themselves.

I agree 100% with what they are doing.

I am not against a transgender category of competition which in all cases would be fair. Because men who went through puberty and then transgendered, and women on testosterone kinda equals a more level playing field.

I think some sort of mixed fighting exists at some level.

Hello @CNN, there are 17 peer reviewed studies that show you CANNOT totally mitigate against male puberty advantage in sport. Not a single one that does. Your bias is on show. How any females watch @CNN. I’ll never know! Do better journalism it’s woeful! Females are worthy of fair.

It's amazing how the left wing press covers this issue to the point they deny transwomen have any advantage.

Although it's a good idea the number of trans athletes is extremely low and what will happen is that they won't have any competition. They will end up on their own in each competitive sport they want to take part.

its a religion and melds with climate and covid.. been having some interesting covos on it all, through that lens this is continuity reformation and this an extreme protestant sect and is impact on some rc countries like the republic of Ireland and Spain...

This is an encouraging start of the inevitable walk-back currently in progress to bring common sanity back to this world.

We are also seeing it in our education system as we are systematically removing the idiots that think they can impose their sexual agenda on our children, thinking that they have more authority than the parents.

We are also in the process of taking all those stupid pronoun and identity exercises apart and putting them back in the dictionaries with their originally intended meanings.

There is a long way to go... the cancel culture have also done great damage, but we will still salvage what they have not already destroyed.

The stupidity in the attempted defunding of our local law enforcement is becoming so apparent, and there are encouraging signs in the reversal of this terrible mistake ongoing.

The people themselves that were responsible are slowly being fired and replaced, but the racism and hate that they have perpetrated is going to be the hardest thing to rectify and recover from.

This is just the surface, and all of the other horrors are still pending. However, solutions will emerge from the ashes.

But not the first time transwomen have been banned from competitive sports.

The Rugby League in the UK has banned transwomen from participating in the sport followed by World Rugby.

FINA which is the World's Governing Body for all aquatic sports has banned transwomen from competing in swimming.

How about the "female" mma fighter, who was fighting in the female division, was knocking women out and splitting their skulls open, and thought it was "fun" to do so. Is that something you condone?

This is indefensible but the other member has conflicting views emanating from a conflicting ideology.

He was arguing earlier about inclusiveness, fairness, and equality. These words seem to have a different meaning to different people.
