What is this

After reading just this article I have a ton of questions.

1.Is it a generic AWACS?

2.If they're banning gas rigs(Oregon) why are we still kissing Saudi arse? Its strategic dummy..ok

3.What priority is it?

Really id just like a little better breakdown than the article gave, the team in the pic of course look stellar as does the aircraft, cool windshield..looks aftermarket a bit, but all in all she's USAF..or is she?

The UAE IMO 'came out of the closet' in and around 2017..lets just stick with the aircraft shall we..certainly..So what's up with it ATS?

It's not an AWACS at all. It's a translator. All of the different datalinks don't talk to each other. MADL doesn't talk to IFDL doesn't talk to Link 16. BACN has the ability to talk to all of them, and translate MADL into IFDL or Link 16, and vice versa. The USAF originally operated a very small fleet, with pilots going through training on operational missions in the AOR. They bought more of them to give themselves a training fleet outside of the AOR, and to have more aircraft as needed, so they didn't lose half the fleet when maintenance requirements caught up to them.

Soo..What would be the threat assessment should one of these be compromised?

It wouldn't be, but not very. It only has the computer systems to translate one waveform into another on board. It doesn't have anything super secret.
