The pictures that they were looking for were rumored to have come from a drone that was flown through the airspace around the base, which is restricted. Any pictures posted from that would be considered classified. Hosting those pictures opened him up to legal consequences to have them taken down, and to determine if he knew who did it, and what, if any, involvement he had.

That's a rumour though.
If it's true then yes this would be a problem I suppose.

It's a rumor coming from informed sources, so it has a lot more weight behind it than just a rumor coming from someone's best friend's cousin, who knows someone who knows someone.

Maybe someone was checking his film history on IMDb and after 20 years the cumulative disclosure went beyond the allowed.
Much of the Area 51 technology that we know about was terminated by Kennedy so you might think they would just turn the place into a national blackbird park where you could go explore the plumbing of a J58 to your hearts content.

Alternatively maybe there is some *current* technology out there *now* that needs to be kept from the prying eyes of the public which is beyond the discretion of Jeorg Arnu.
