It began almost as soon as he stepped onto the plane.

As Emerson Collins, a film producer and nonprofit director, boarded his American Airlines flight from Los Angeles to Dallas on Sept. 6, a bizarre noise from the plane’s intercom system flooded the cabin: a loud groan — or was it a moan? — laced with pain — or was it pleasure?

It was difficult to discern. “It was either someone’s unfortunate food poisoning in the bathroom or, like, someone with an uncomfortable approach to personal satisfaction,” Collins said. “Literally, it was halfway between an orgasm and vomiting.”

For the first half-hour of the flight, the noise returned every two to three minutes, Collins estimated, so he took out his phone and began recording. Many people were snoozing, and some had slipped on their headphones, but Collins, delighting in the hilarity of it, wanted the full experience, he said. “Weirdest. Flight. Ever,” the video begins. And then, the moaning. Or was it groaning?

Very weird. Either someone has been hacking into airline intercoms or the dead aren’t happy about something.

Video of the sounds are in the link.

What do you think?

Thanks for posting.
Funny stuff.

I'm guessing the captain is getting a BJ in the cockpit.

I can't listen to the audio link right now as I am in a quiet public setting but I will check it out as soon as I get home.

This story has me curious what's going on out there!

" Either someone has been hacking into airline intercoms or the dead aren’t happy about something."

Please tell me those truly can't be the only explanations you can come up with ?

Occam would point out you left out the most likely scenario of a problem caused the outcome . Why the automatic jump to "It has to be Mr. Robot or a Ghost!"

“Literally, it was halfway between an orgasm and vomiting.”

Well that put a stop to my bowl of porridge with sliced carrots.

Seriously though-Maybe it was an issue with the planes plumbing system.A house I lived in had that weird water hammer noise that was sometimes followed by a kind of moanish sounding noise.

I am almost embarrassed to admit this, but, a long time ago at a K-Mart a friend and I saw an employee pick up a phone hanging on a pillar, dial 00 and make an announcement over the store PA. A few minutes later over the store PA I hear my friend...."Oooohhh yeah....aaahhhhhh....stick your finger in my ear....oooohhh yeah......put the donkey in the corner....thats it baby....ooooohhhhh yeahhhhh.....ruined a blue light special....

Sounds like the crew (almost) flawlessly handled the 6 to 9 shift, except for that pesky mic button.

When my husband worked Graveyard at Walmart one night he gave an update that the store was closing early for some reason or another and prefaced the anncouncement with "ATTENTION PEOPLE OF EARTH...".

Laughter could be heard throughout the store that evening and no one complained so he didn't get in trouble.

We're Americans, stuff like this happens.
