Tampa Bays time has come. Look at the track of Hurricane Phoenix in the > 8 year old disaster scenario project done by local media,

The track is spot on, and Ian can easily become a 5 quickly.

This 1959 film by Disney shows them controlling the weather and direction of hurricanes. Below the video is the poster's notes. Good luck Tampa Bay and Florida!!

Eyes in Outer Space 1959 - Cloud Seeding Hurricanes by Walt Disney
Video by Walt Disney
Technical advice by Irving P. Krick, father of ground-based silver iodide generators.
en.wikipedia.org...
"After leaving Caltech, Krick continued offering commercial long-term weather forecasts. He also added the service of cloud seeding, forcing precipitation in drought-affected areas.

In summer of 1948 Krick performed the first series of 27 airborne cloud seeding tests over central Arizona, dropping up to 300 pounds (140 kg) of ice particles on each flight. Indeed, the seeded clouds released rain-raising water levels in local reservoirs. The "rain-makers" admitted that the result had other, natural, causes, but in a year that was one of the driest on record it was a significant success. Financially, the volume of water added by Krick's experiment cost only $2.50, compared to $14. going rate.

In December 1949 Krick suggested cloud seeding without resorting to airborne devices; his proposal employed ground-based smoke generators dispersing vaporized silver iodide. A single smoke dispenser set, asserted Krick, could be moved by two wheelbarrows; it theoretically provided cloud-seeding particles for an area of 240 square miles (620 km2). Tests demonstrated a fourfold increase in precipitation. By 1951 his cloud-seeding business had hired 120 employees to seed clouds over 330 million acres (1,300,000 km2) in the western United States as well as parts of Mexico and San Salvador.

However, the American meteorological establishment opposed his practice asserting his methods of cloud seeding were bogus, and the weather could not be forecast for more than five days into the future. Krick decided to offer his long-term forecasting to the Weather Bureau, but they too did not believe in his methods, so he started a private business. He successfully proved his basic premises, making a substantial profit from forecasts and weather making. Krick's practice caught the eye of many famous figures, and he was hired to forecast the weather for presidential inaugurations and movie shoots. He garnered attention in 1957 when his prediction of sunny weather for President Eisenhower's second inauguration, made 17 days before the event, came true.[3] Of his most notable achievements, Dr. Krick also made rain in Israel after a severe drought, made it stop hailing in Alberta, Canada, and made enough snow for the 1960 Winter Olympics to take place.

During the mid-sixties, Irving P. Krick & Associates operated a successful cloud seeding operation in the area around Calgary, Alberta. This utilized both aircraft and ground-based generators that pumped silver iodide into the atmosphere in an attempt to reduce the threat of hail damage. Ralph Langman, Lynn Garrison, and Stan McLeod, all ex-members of the RCAF, attending the University of Alberta, spent their summers flying hail suppression. A number of surplus Harvard aircraft were fitted with racks under each wing containing 32 railroad fuzees that were impregnated with silver iodide. These could be ignited individually or all at once, depending upon the threat. In coordination with ground units, the aircraft would lay a plume of silver iodide in front of approaching cumulonimbus clouds with noticeable effect. Large, active CBs were reduced to nothing. Heavy hail storms were reduced in intensity.

This effective program was funded by farmer contributions and government grants. The program was run each summer and did much to reduce crop damage by hail, otherwise the farm community would not have continued to finance the project.

Last report I hear is that it is supposed to weaken to a category 1 or 2 by the time it reaches landfall in Florida. Brushing the western Florida coast all the way up will degrade it substantially.

Here's another good link to follow along Mike always has good info and this one is heading his way.

Major Hurricane Ian in the Gulf! Tracks have shifted east towards the Florida west coast. Historic surge, inland flooding, 110+ mph winds, Tornadoes, widespread power outages all expected. Coast to coast will be dealing with damage. Impacts will reach parts of the panhandle and big bend. Then into the SE/GA as a Tropical Storm it appears.

According to Mike one big concern is the storm surge in Tampa Bay, even if it swipes the coast Ian is so large it's surge effects will still be felt

S/ Sure, sure : we get the insinuation.
Just because they could control the weather 63 years ago, doesn't mean they can still do it today.

Everybody knows that NASA™/NOAA™ lost all of their technology from the sixties anyways ... /S

There was a map with a triangle state, it was covered in mud, people were running screaming. The mud was splashing around the state. I say mud but it was splashing like stirred beach water, not thick. It was as if something was desperately trying to show me what was going to happen. There was no sound.

When I woke up I looked on the map to see where this could be…. The only place that even resembles it is South Carolina.

Wonder if this is what my dream was about...
Not sure what the triangle symbolism is though.

I live right in the area this is supposed to hit. Ideally, I should be evacuating out of here and heading to safety. I'm out of the storm surge areas, but I'm definitely in the predicted path for extreme winds and rain. I live in a manufactured home, and as of this afternoon my county has issued a mandatory evacuation for all mobile homes, manufactured homes, and RVs.

I'm opting to stay put. At this point in my life, I'm either going to make it out fine, or meet my maker. With the current state of the planet, I'm fine with either option. It's not like I can just pack up essentials and drive, especially with the weather predictors having little idea of where this storm might head next. Why head out and possibly risk heading into an area that's going to get hit even worse than where I'm already at?

I'm not alone, every person in my neighborhood has decided to stay home and hope for the best.

If anyone gives a dang, I would be willing to check in and give updates as this storm progresses.

Please do and if there's anything i can do just message. I know I'm way up here in Idaho but don't hesitate to message me privately or contact me back here

We'd love a thread of updates if you can

Maybe I can start a thread for those of us on ATS who are actively dealing with the storm?

As a long time Fl resident I prefer sources with just direct information , no talking , fear mongering, or dramatization .

Cat 1-3: Stock up Alcohol ,Gas, diesel, propane
Cat 4: Get more Alcohol , check the shutters ,tie down the boat extra tidy along with canoes, patio furniture.
Cat 5: Get more Alcohol and food.

These are some of the links I prefer with no spin or journalist on canoe with .5" of water on the street or guy in rain coat leaning forward.

If you do live in a manufacture home then please DO take it seriously and evacuate .
Irma took my RV and the manufacture homes in the area all got shredded to pieces.

Also if you have pets begin to verify what places will allow you to bring your pets for shelter. Also expect long delays.

If its coming your way and you are in a manufacture home DONT stay put. While YOU might be prepared to meet your maker many others aren't that might end up risking their own life to save yours.

Not to mention you will MOST likely contribute to flooding critical services, personnel , hospitals, and other resources where seconds can make a difference in someones life. Don't put others people life in danger for getting yourself in a very likely known bad situation ahead of time.
