Today an earthquake has hit 20miles south of Aquila,Mexico-It was big at magnitude 7.5 on the richer scale and only 15km deep, which is relativley shallow.

It only happened an hour or so ago,and so far no reports of casualties-But there is something odd about this one..

The quake hit on the same day as major quakes in 1985 and 2017. Alarms for Monday's quake came less than an hour after alarms sounded in a nationwide earthquake simulation to mark the prior quakes

What a strange alignment of coincidences.

This could be a case of mass thought waveform causality. So many people were thinking about the quakes that it actually brought a similarly sized quake into being.

After the quake in Taiwan I was expecting another big one somewhere else. Hoping for no casualties!

ring of fire showin it's a@@ again, first in taiwan, now mexico, wouldn't be surprised if more didn't happen in the next week or so.

wouldn't it be something if all the doom being posted about for banking and the end of Sept has something to do with this.

There was definitely some shaking going on. Here's a quick video from a hotel room.

Wow. Another one on a plate boundary. And on the anniversary of 2 others in Mexico. And an hour after a nationwide simulated drill to commemorate the anniversary. Eerie.

Now one in Alaska, California, Japan, and Chile and all major populated areas of the ring of fire have been hit this month. must be the phases of the moon...

Joking aside Mexico gets hit with a 7.0 or greater every 34 months on average. Since 2017 theres been an; 8.2, 7.1, 7.2, 7.4, 7.0, and today's 7.7. Statistics will screw with you the way they lump together in spikes. But Mexico is interesting. Like Chile and Japan it gets hit a lot. And goes through bursts like 2017-2022 or 1995-2000 or 1931-1937, where there are several major ones in statistically short amount of time.

56 earthquakes of 7.0 or greater since 1850, 11 of those 7.7 or greater. Today's quake at 7.7 + happens every 15 years.

And with 56 major quakes 7.0+ since 1850 it works like the birthday paradox, you only need 23 dates before two of them have 50% chance of being the same.

This is like a workplace of 56 people having 3 people share a birthday. Not that odd. It's around a 95% chance after only 46 earthquakes that 2 occur on the same day. Even a sample of 15 earthquakes have a 1/4 chance of two happening on the same day.

en.m.wikipedia.org...

Don't let normal statistics screw with you. Even though it's really hard not to on a 5 year anniversary.

Yep excuse the spelling. He predicted that Japan would get a big one, but it ended up that Taiwan copped it. Then he said that the west coast of the US would cop a big one so Mexico seemed to be right. But from what he said their could be another somewhere down the coast.

That was funny.

If it was an Aspergers party I would be. Though everyone just would probably talk about themselves and correct each other.
