Well, this still gets a star and flag even though it's fake.

I didn't read the rest of the thread before scrolling through the photos and I'm glad I didn't. It was a few minutes of curious wonder before I came back and had it ruined.

It did seem too good to be true, but I've come across some real things that are quite remarkable and never mentioned in history books. It never hurts to look.

Interesting photos. I didn't know they had programmes that could create images like that (after reading other's posts).

There definitely IS something odd, perhaps powerful down there, especially since all these famous personages randomly take pilgrimages down there. The Pope, Buzz Aldrin, Kiril, John Kerry, Hermann Goering, Prince Harry....
it can't really be about just 'climate change'

Cool but probably fake.

Isn't there a surfaced submarine (conning tower) in the background of a couple of pics?

Yes, there was one submarine in the operation High Jump group of ships. They also had an aircraft carrier.

Quite the offensive naval fleet he had there, considering the official mission was research...

Rumour has it, he was clearing out Nazi bunkers/U-boat pens.

The insane version goes beyond that 'normal stuff' and delves into Yetis lol.

's'possible!

The story went that the US troops encountered giant beasts they had to fire upon and barely escaped with their lives, underground.

Another story is about Lake Vostok (?) and a giant kraken like octopus .

I don't see anyone mentioning Admiral Byrd's 'hollow earth' theory?
I remember reading about this in the old 'Fate Magazines', someone gave me his old collection which went back to 1948, and they are still printing it.

From that link:

Ancient alien theorists have a strong belief that the Himalayan region in Southwest Tibet could have had a secret entrance to an underground mythical city known as Shambhala.

There are more descriptions of 20th century expeditions to Agartha, and attempts to find Shambhala, in this article.

this is the confusing part people always mistake byrds polar expeditions
he flew over the north pole where he was meant to have seen the warm region with trees and the entrance

not in the southern pole

Thank you to Hooke and Sapien82 for the replies -
I've always been confused about Admiral Byrd's expeditions and revelations, and never heard a finalized version of exactly what was found, and where.
Seems to be a forgotten episode.

I doubt you will find any answers as I recall no one has actually seen said journal
it was all word of mouth i think it was meant to be told by one of his ancestors who inherited the journal
and passed on the info to others.

Who knows though if anything Admiral Byrd was some man
one of the last cool figures from that era who was very talented and a good explorer
You can read his writings from the national geographic piece he did on the south pole exploration
its in the CIA archives
