Sudden Onset,Pandemic Stress and Social Media induced severe tics in teen girls worldwide.

I mentioned this subject in the Covid updates thread yesterday when I stumbled upon this report-

I just watched the 60 minutes investigation on the matter,(see below)and it is truly strange.
It seems to have been happening since early 2020-so mid lockdowns,but pre vaccine rollouts.
It is described as appearing in mostly teenage girls,sometimes as fast as overnight,globally-and the tics are more vigorous and complex than those usually seen in tourettes.

The neurologist on the program thinks the stress and loneliness of lockdowns,combined with increased use of tiktok and exposure to viral "tic" videos are to blame!
These videos have racked up over 6 BILLION views since the lockdowns they say!
The claim is,that these girls have been put in a highly suggestable state due to chronic stress and anxiety resulting from being locked down,and a form of mass hysteria is taking place in the form of this tic syndrome.

They are picking up real neurological syndromes-by viewing them on tiktok-while in this highly suggestable state.
Does that sound like some next level MK Ultra sh1t or what?

Even though you WILL laugh if you watch the video-and even though many of those in the video also find it amusing-It is quite a scary example of social media directly altering the minds of these kids,some maybe permenantly.


As its ATS I should mention my theory from the other thread that maybe tiktok have been running secret experiments along the lines of the story of the "Serenity" movie-

In that movie,a hidden trigger frequency is embeded into music streams which drives certain people crazy when they hear the music.
A similar idea is in the Steven King novel "Cell" where a transmission to everyones cell phones turns those who hear it into ferals.

I'm not saying this is happening here-But we know social media companies have spent millions reseaching how they can alter peoples brains and utilise psychology/rewards/pretty colors/flashing lights etc to make thier product more hyptonic/addictive.
And there were already decades of such research well before social media was a thing..from advertising to black ops.

Maybe certain social media companies have darker motives and agendas than many people realize?

This is the neurologist they interviewed on 60 minutes-

The severe stress of social isolation is what they have identified as the key factor driving this new wave of tics.

"Often the young people had a history of some problems such as anxiety and depression. But then the stress of the pandemic plus other stress factors in life accumulated, and if you are chronically stressed, the body starts to fail and, and struggles to cope. And that's what we think is going on," he said.

"It is a perfect storm."

Another factor arose in many cases Dale was seeing: social media.

'I think it became almost like a contagion, or they started to mimic, to do these tics'

Comparing stories with medical colleagues around the world, they surmised that the increase in sudden onset tics in teenage girls could be being triggered by TikTok videos.

"Across the world, both in Australia and then America, [they] were using similar phrases. And it was that which made us think that social media was a link in what was going on," he said.

The dailymail link is only about the 60 minutes report which delves into the actual subject in more detail,but I get the point.

There is definitely a subversive aspect to some facets of modern technology.

It would not surprise me if unethical biohackers are doing this for kicks.

Yea, I am not buying this as a widespread problem.

Social media has produced a severe attention deficit in people.
Iny my opinion, the younger women are more susceptible because of the enormous pressures on them (exacerbated by social media) to "fit in" or garner more attention from others in the form of "likes".

I feel terrible for young women these days and the absolute mindfudk that social media is attributing to. It's detestable and needs to be abolished, but their users keep justifying it's existence and their addiction.

All of it is causing mental issues. Young and old.

But in some cases, it's more of a cry for attention than an actual mental disorder. Which leads to more questions.

Didn't this happen during the Salem Witch Trials and it was teen girls then too.

Here's a thought.

How about spirit possession. Maybe low level chaotic spirits attempting to possess people with underdeveloped sense of self.

And opening the discussion to that idea, how about comparing it to religious ''speaking in tongues'' where practitioners induce themselves into states of consciousness where they display almost uncontrollable verbal spewings and accented physical gyrations not completely dissimilar to the things seen here ?

Funny you mention that Terry-as I watched the video I was wondering if people with these kinds of tics would have been treated as though they were possesed in ancient times.
What seems to be happening is they lose the ability to block out the subconscious,and what seems to be a different person manifests.
Its very often the "mischeivious"part of our subconscious which seems to step forward..knowing the most inapropriate things to say to people-like that part of the subconscious may want to cause harm to its "host".

In that way it sure fits the demon possession reports of old.

Interesting points-
I bet if you got MRI scans done on the tic tok tourettes kids and some of those in a religious fervor you would see some similarities in brain activity.

The mind of the individual is strange enough-but when we become part of a group/herd even stranger things can start to happen.

We humans invented being crazy,and are experts at it!

I'm not a teen , but the stress from the last two years has been unreal! I'm already stressed to the max because I have too much on my plate, and all this isn't helping. There are times when I want to sell/delete everything and run away from my old life and people. Hide out on a deserted island or such , for peace and quiet

I watched the video, and the 'tics' look fake to me.
I suffer from years of OCD (cousin of Tourettes) so have some idea of what's real and what's fake.

Good point-I believe this is the same kind of phenomena,but today the vehicle which spreads the hysteria is social media rather than word of mouth-so it can spread across the planet instead of staying in one town or village.

There are other events of a similar nature-some of the "dancing plagues" or the more recent dreaded "Monkey man" thing in India.

Any of you guys watch Evil? The series.. its about things just like this..

Anyways, i am not a christian, even tho i once saw a vision of Jesus crucified on an opened tesseract. was pretty confusing when years after that i saw the painting of dali, titled Corpus Hypercubus.

But something fishy is going on, it does not seem like just money, greed psychos, i think there is a big chance we are being influenced by "supernatural" or occult, possibly even demonic forces.

Maybe time will tell.

It wouldn't surprise me at all if having covid doesn't help anything to do with the brain-as vascular inflamation is known to occur including in the brain of covid sufferers.
Restricted blood flow results,and is of course not great at all for our brains which are serious blood/oxygen hogs.

A really common after effect of covid -seemingly with or without having the shots- is regularish headaches after recovery.
Pretty much everyone I know has headaches after covid,me included.

I had thought of adding that as well to my first post, so yes, it would seem to be the case. Also, Ketsuko brought up a point up-thread about women at the time of the Salem witch trials undergoing things that were taken to be possession.

The mind of the individual is strange enough-but when we become part of a group/herd even stranger things can start to happen.

Stranger than we have imagined for most of our existence. I wonder though about the relationship of individual becoming part of a group/heard. I pretty much hold that we ARE part of a herd and that our sense of individuality is to a high degree questionable.

I pretty much hold that we are part of a larger gestalt and that the challenge for the individual is to BECOME an individual and not just a unconscious aspect of the gestalt. It's not easy seeing as most gestalts have the notion that we already are individuals and that by following the belief systems of the gestalt, here read, cult, religion, philosophical outlook, political persuasion, etc, one can become more of an individual.I make it that only by pulling away from any and all of these groups or tribes can we even begin to glimpse the fuller realizations of individuality. And even that could be my own illusion.

So we could in some way,be unknowingly something other than what we believe ourselves to be-

I had a thought experiment/theory about aliens meeting us a while ago-in the theory they see us not as individuals,but as a sort of collective organism.
Similar to how we now understand fungus to work-its a collective organism which utilises/breaks down the chemicals and minerals in its environment to grow and make a kind of expanded conscious network,which allows the transfer of information across distances.

Aliens may see us as something like that,and may use that as the starting point on how to influence or interact with us.
