The Dance in the Night - SN2022 - writer

He stood outside after midnight. The stars were fighting again. That movement... He recalled in the Sand Dunes seeing two like that.

Now it was half the stars…

He couldn’t see them shooting but there were impossible angles.

More ‘stars’ joined in...

Awe became fright.
As he watched this insane display, his animal fear ratcheted up another notch…’Are they growing?’ he thought.

Now all the ‘stars’ were fighting, jerking around like jumping-spiders- were getting larger, as if coming closer to Earth…

Making no sound; illuminating the grass as if flood lights.

Larger...

A bright flash like a nuke.

Nothing.

Reminded me of a dream I had long ago. Walking in the darkness with the horizon of a hilly landscape visible ahead of me.

Very good, Chris!

The stars personified and fighting amongst themselves makes for a spectacular, yet scary scenario. At least their battleground is immense enough to avoid getting us involved in their shenanigans.
