Euthanasia is not just for the sick. Canada will kill you if you're "too poor to live with dignity".

MAID (Medical Assistance In Dying), or euthanasia, has been around for a long time. If someone is living in terrible pain 24 hours a day, I totally understand why they would want an escape. I don't think anyone has the right to judge them. Until today, I hadn't heard of anyone being euthanized because they were poor. Now It looks as though the Canadian govt will be willing to cover the 2300 bucks it costs to kill someone. Not just the sick, but "those too poor to live with dignity".

There are a lot of other ways our government should help the poor, this isn't one of them, and how it got in the top 100 is beyond me much less implemented.

Lastly wanting to die and feeling useless runs through all segments of society if you haven't been paying attention the suicide rates have skyrocketed in virtually all demographics.

Now that the Canadian government has recognized death as an acceptable medical remedy for contracting poorness; in a decade or two the government can probably convince 52% of the population to accept mandated euthanasia for the poor as a means to medicaly protect society.

It’s the new way of looking at things. Old people, sick people, poor people. Useless waste of resources. Only the young matter.

Kinda makes me think of the suicide parlor in “Soylent Green”, or the carousel in “ Logan’s Run “ 35 years old and you get to take a ride. Sad times, first the sick then the rest. Talk about life imitating science fiction, spooky.

Other than that. If you are in Canada and do not pay for your insurance and rely on free healthcare you will be on a waiting list for more than a year just to see a specialist.
