lol. You've made a very good point.

It does seem to be entirely impossible for anyone to stop in a 'hit & run'.

Agreed, suspect t she may have had auto pilot on, perhaps like that driver in the states in that google self driving Volvo, who killed a person crossing the road in self drive mode.

She was watching a movie on her phone.

Why would anyone use auto pilot in a high density inner Melbourne suburb. Does not make sense.

She most likely was on the phone, and she did nor see the stationary Tram.

I know I don’t use cruise control other than on the highway.

Thumbs down to autopilot, and thumbs down to assholes who hit people and ditch the scene. I'd have the car squashed while they were forced to watch..ala Clockwork Orange.
