Seems that the need to denazify Ukraine is something that even Time Magazine was quite aware of a year ago.

I know the history of the Swastika. I do think people react unfairly to it when they see it outside of a Nazi context. European tourists freaking out at Hindu temples, for example.

The Schwarze Sonne was very much the symbol of Himmler and his SS. It has little use outside of fanatical Neo-Nazi groups and very, very dark occultist groups. Next to no historical significance either, aside from being partly inspired by the Swastika.

Everyone in Ukraine is not white though. The Ukrainian neo nazis are also hard core "Nationalists" this is why they have taken up fighting against ethnic Russians who were peacefully protesting new laws (like all schooling past 3rd grade must only be taught in Ukrainian even though everyone in the area speaks Russian and they want their kids to be taught school in Russian) in Ukraine that were taking away their heritage and language. Read up on the Odessa massacre of May 2/2014.

White supremacist is a term for modern hate groups that doesn't fit Nazi racial ideology particularly well.

They believed in the Supremacy of the Aryan Race that was, as far as they were concerned, a subset of the Germanic-Nordic Race. They regarded a large portion of what would be considered white today as subhumans unworthy even of an existence of total servitude and slavery to the master race, which would have been the fate of all non-Aryans in their "New Order".

They didn't really hold a lot of prejudices based on skin colour alone, outside of what was generally common for early 20th century Europe.

They held fairly high opinions of Native Americans, Arabs and Indians in particular, at least on an ideological level. They aren't what we would consider "White" today.

They similarly held the belief that White Americans were a "Mongrel race" worthy of disdain because of what they called their "mixed blood" and lack of cultural foundation. Something a modern American Neo-Nazi would likely take considerable issue with.

The definition of "race" has changed a lot over the years apparently.

Personally I think the very concept of race is ridiculous and merely a tool for control & division and people who judge others based on their "race" are likely very stupid, hateful or both.

That's interesting. What do you think looks evil about it? Does it look violent? Is it the sharp angles that make it scary? I think it's a powerful symbol for sure. It represents the absolute, the source of everything, light and darkness etc.

And they borrowed it from Helena Blavatsky and old Germanic artefacts. Sun wheels and sun crosses. But it's been used in other cultures too, and Himmler didn't invent putting a bunch of Swastikas on top of each other, like here.
