Meatloaf was the only singer I have seen live in concert. First as Uni student in Wembley, London. Then in Northern Ireland, I was in the same hotel (the Conway) in Belfast with him and his band (I was working for Mitsubishi) and played snooker with them (and got very tiddly) every night and went along as a guest to his concert! Then up in Aberdeen when I lived up there. Finally, I had promised my girls I would take them to see him when he was next in UK and we went to Birmingham to see him.
This song is one of my particular favourites, and my children know I want it played at my funeral.
God speed Meat, you had a huge heart and a huge voice

His Dan Rather interview in March 2021

By September, he was a shadow of his former self on the Hukabee show....

He was due back in the studio this January

I saw him live once at the 94 all star game and was an immediate fan, even fighting back tears in public.

I was already a fan of his music and movie roles, but I became a fan of the man that day.

Been asked to add Meatloaf singing the American National anthem by Ghostsdogood.
He sings it like a hymn....
Very happy to oblige

Thank you!

Was a LOT more powerful live as he put absolutely everything he had into that unique performance (the video only shows a couple seconds of him putting his whole body into it), and I've never seen anyone else put quite as much effort into the message instead of just getting through the words.

He then stayed and walked around most of the stadium talking to fans during the game. Was told he spent nearly the entire previous day practicing at the stadium.

He took that honor as seriously as any of us would.

And it showed.

I wish I had taken the chance to thank him that day.

An absolute legend and the soundtrack to part of my teen years...

Let's get his name right at least:

Paradise by the Dashboard Lights

RIP, dude!

Thought you rocked in The Rocky Horror Picture Show, albeit briefly.

Yes, my apologies, wasn't watching spell checker when I was typing and have no idea how to change in headline.

No biggie. Common mistake, especially for spell check. Just wanted to clarify.

I wish I had the opportunity to see him in concert and IRL as you did.

Paradise is part of my college soundtrack alongside Hotel California and Don't Fear the Reaper. I also like I Would Do Anything for Love.

Another iconic chunk of my teenage years ripped away from me... of course that's a selfish way of looking at it. RIP Meat.
