Oddly enough, I just watched Betty get "roasted" by Foster Brooks a few days ago.

She was a class act. RIP Betty.

Another one too young. Darn COVID

This actually is too soon. She deserved to make it to 100. She really hadn't looked like she aged much during the last 30 years or so.

I thought she had just made it to 100, but I see now that wasn't going to happen until Jan. 17.

This one took me by surprise I admit. Betty White seemed to be just like Keith Richards - nearly ageless and timeless.

I just saw this image a day or 2 ago, which is why I thought she had already reached 100.






eta: I suppose her death does somehow seem like a fitting way to cap off 2021.

My first exposure to Betty White was The Golden Girls. Then, I saw Lake Placid.



It upped her cool factor considerably. Ladies who seem so grandmotherly just don't talk like that. It gets even funnier when you know how much of a dedicated animal lover she actually was. In fact, she had retired to concentrate on animal work and her rescues.

So there are two meta levels to it: The dedicated animal love feeding the cow like that, but also the idea that the animal lover just couldn't turn her back on the croc in need.

The world will miss Betty White.

I just saw a commercial on YouTube with her promoting her 100th birthday celebration and she was inviting everyone to share it with her live.

So sad, I really liked that spunky ol' gal and her oblivious but much aware comedy style.

Her role in Lake Placid really caught me by surprise, at the time. I wasn't expecting that.

I usually tend to avoid romantic comedies, but she was pretty funny in 'The Proposal (2009) www.imdb.com...
She's the best part of that movie.
