How Old Do You Have To Be Before You Get Your Constitutional Rights.

I have a question and I am looking for your opinions. Once I get some opinions I'll expand this to explain why I am asking.

How old do you have to be before you get your Constitutional Rights?

I know that the 14th Amendment specifies voting age and the ages for holding office. I am not referring to that.

The Constitution does not give you rights, it merely protects them from government... Your Creator gives you the rights protected in the Constitution!

Birth, but certain rights like freedom of speech and association can be withheld by a caregiver such as a parent or a school if its deemed in the wider interest. You would need to challenge these individually in court.

According to the Constitution of the United States, a person gets their rights at creation.

In The US of A the age of full rights are 16 if you emancipate, 18 otherwise.

Your parents and the State control your "well-being" up until then.

Why? It's an important consideration. Children also don't get jury trials nor bail, rights that are guaranteed to adults.

If only at birth…then the created have no protection while in vitro…yet can be fully viable organisms before birth…

ATS isn't the only place that I've asked this question. When I thought this up the current kerfluffle over abortion never entered my mind. Since then both sides of that issue have taken verbal punches at me. ATS is the only place that hasn't. I'm going to let this go through out today and review the responses from every place that I've asked the question. I'll respond with why I asked it and my intentions tomorrow. I'm trying to figure out if I should post here or start a new thread and reference this one. Any input from the Mods here would be apriciated.

At creation. So when is a human created? That's when you have the rights of a human being intrinsic to being human.

That's why some on both sides of the abortion issue are pissed at me. I wasn't even thinking about that when I came up with this. For the first time ATS has had the politest responses.

Here's an even more important question:

If a citizen has protection against housing soldiers in civilian homes, and a pregnant woman has sex with a soldier, has the woman infringed on the rights of the fetus for housing a soldier in the fetus' home?

Logic, common sense and biology would say as soon as they become a unique human being.
This would be at the time Mitosis begins in a fertilized egg.

That's only for men, one could argue only white men. The rest of us had to wait for an ammendment to be made to the constitution, and that ammendment I do believe mentions persons, with the word born in there somewhere..
