Eve And Adam

Hello people of ATS.
When I look at the story of Adam And Eve I can't help but think it should be called the story Of Eve And Adam.
Basically we use that story to understand who we are and where we come from, and the defining part of that story is our fall from God.
In the story Adam and Eve betray God for different reasons, Eve betrayed God because she couldn't resist temptation where as Adam betrayed God for Eve, so Adam betrayed God out of foolishness, a foolishness true Christianity tries not to repeat but look at our world today.
It worked for Satan then.
As in the times of Noah.

Adam was first and gave his rib for Eve , I think that qualifies him to be at the head , Eve And Adam sounds a bit to 21st Century re-thinking to me.

Just saying - we dismiss cultures that are gender segregated.

But, except for my mom, my life would have been better if Adam stuck to Adam.

From a pure "buddy" perspective, there's so much fun to be had with a male buddy.

But as one grows older, they all disappear.

I agree Adam came first but I'm sure God created Eve as an equal to Adam, God never gave Adam reign over Eve.
My point is look at the world today, look at how in Christianity men and women have certain roles, for me the roles Christian men and women take if they are true to Christianity is to prevent the mistakes Adam and Eve made which inevitably led to the flood and the destruction of that civilisation.

I think he created her to bear the fruits of Adam , make the samwhich's and give him grief when he came home late.
He was a vengeful God and Adam couldn't be allowed to have it all his own way.

My point is look at the world today, look at how in Christianity men and women have certain roles.

Not just Christianity though , Islam has an even stronger divide between the sex's while Christianity has moved with the times , I think Paganism had a more equal ethos than either of the modern religions.

Honest Questions - I don't get what this Rant is about.

Didn't God create Lilith as an equal to Adam first(which She was having none of)? Adam didn't want an equal so God made Eve of Adam.

I'm not sure how you get Lilith refusing to be Adams equal to Adam not wanting an equal.

The translators and compilers of the King James Bible were world class writers and knew Adam and Eve scans better than Eve and Adam.

Well, at least Eve didn't say she wanted her name changed to a gender neutral They name.
