Your country (America, I believe) is still quite young and still having teething issues about how it relates to other countries in the world, so just give it time to stop playing the frustrated child and I'm sure all will be well in a few hundred years.

political correctness and too much tolerance is a mojar factor IMO. Top that with social media, selfishness and apathy and here we are. It is more nuanced than that I'm sure but those have been my observations.
