Sometime around 1 pm this afternoon, police and firefighters blocked off several blocks in Middletown, Pennsylvania and made everyone in the surrounding homes evacuate to the local borough building. Evacuees reported hearing police discussing explosives and/or a bomb. The Pennsylvania State Police bomb squad later showed up with a detonation chamber. As of 8:40 pm, the situation seems to still be ongoing, with local residents reporting they're getting hotel rooms for the night.
Not sure what's going on but hopefully it isn't terrorism-related, particularly since we're close to 9/11.

A law enforcement source who did not want to be identified told PennLive police were investigating potential explosives found in a man’s home.

Hopefully it’s nothing, just some hillbilly with left over fire works or something.

Or a sandwich, that Karen called and reported as terrorist weaponry.

Curious to see the outcome.

Yep things are going to get very interesting now that America have no president.

Dang, that new Taliban government is getting to work quick!
Let us hope that isn't the case as I think it is possible that scenarios like this could become commonplace soon.
Those folks do like their IEDs

It was a nut making explosives in his home. Judging by the area they evacuated either semtex or C4 . Most chemistry majors could make this for you easily its not difficult.

Joseph McClure was arraigned and remains in Dauphin County Prison after his bail was denied. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for Sept. 22.

Update (9:03 p.m.) Police have arrested Joseph McClure, 44, who is now facing multiple charges, these include:

Unlawful possession or manufacturing of weapons of mass destruction

I won't accept that he was a nut until someone shows me he was making them for the purposes of violence.
Until then, what's wrong with having a little fun?

Well tbh, if he is sane he would have practiced such a hobby in a secluded place. Not a populated one.
