This Is A Test - My Posts Are Not Showing Up.

I am sending this test post, because my posts are not showing up.

I want to see if this is happening only in the one thread where I was posting, or if this also happens in other threads.

I am also testing to see if I start a thread, will it show up.

This is just a test.

This post showed up for me also.

Unfortunately the posts that I made in www.abovetopsecret.com..., still are not showing up.

Will try another thread.

Edit: Never mind. It's dated yesterday.

Second Edit: It's not just you. I just did a test post to that thread and it didn't take.

Hopefully the final edit: I sent an alert to bring this to the attention of admin.

on the recent board on the thread in question, it says last post by hefficide 5min ago. But it does not show in the thread...

I just posted to another thread an it took. So I think you are right.

It must be just that thread.

I guess there could be other threads that have this problem, we just haven't come across then yet.

Okay. This is odder still.

I decided to check and see if it was my browser causing the problem.

I went to ATS using another computer and browser. All my posts, including my test posts, and Hefficide's post were there.

I am thinking it was just a problem with the browser. So I logged in from the new computer and browser, and the post could not be seen. ??????

You can see them if you are not logged in. You can't see them if you are logged in. ????

I don't know enough about how this works. So for now, it is just a mystery to me.

I had a post (or three) in one thread that didn't show up for me yesterday.
I looked at the myATS page, and it shows that I posted in that particular thread, but I couldn't see it when I went to the thread.

I just went back to check if anything changed from yesterday...
Here is the title of the thread:
Hunting Leaks, Trump Officials Focused on Democrats in Congress

On the myATS page, it says that I am the last person to post in that thread. I went to the thread and my post(s) isn't(aren't) there.

This is just a test.

It appears that a certain obnoxious user has resurrected a method of trashing threads from many years ago on similar sites, and started using that trick here around 6 hours ago.

(or longer, that's just when I noticed it)

I reported it to dtom at the time, but he likely hasn't seen the message yet.



Temporary fix:

* can be done by any user *

Respond to the last visible post in each thread where posts aren't appearing using the quote button,

then delete every single character in the quote,

then type 'V', without the quotes or comma. Just a capital V.

And click the reply button.

Done.



This will cause the 'missing' posts to appear and the thread will work properly again after that.

A mod will probably clean up the test posts later.

I already did this for you on the first link in this thread.

Thanks. I just tried it in the thread that I spoke about above... and it worked!

It worked for me because the post was seen.


And it worked for @Tulpa, because they also were able to see it.

So, yes! It worked.

I got an extra bonus when @Nunyabizisit recognized the reason for the problem, and gave us a work around.

So all around, it worked.
