The Boomers grew up and had kids, but didn't spank them because they were too busy building the government we currently have.


Now their asshat children are taking control from the asshat boomers, while anyone with any sense left is distancing themselves from government and policy...

that's one H#ll of a broad brush you are swinging around!
Talk to my kids, talk to my kid's friends, and their friends...the boomers in my community didn't stand for any s%*t in our neighborhood, or the neighborhood at the cottage where we spent our summers...(I know, privilege)
But I grew up in a bible thumping conservative community.

You left out hippies, hippies were the ones that decided that kids shouldn't be spanked, and that things in the future needed to be like they saw it. It was a slow process, but hippies became the far left.

I have to kind of agree with you BOTH!
I am a boomer, I saw hippies and those as you describe. I was one of those that you described too. I didn't have kids, but my method of raising a kid would not have been anything like what was done to some of the kids back then. Of course, at the time, I didn't really pay attention, I guess. I just remember reading one day that people weren't spanking their kids, the next thing I knew is that someone was wanting the Pledge of Allegiance removed from schools, and so on, it was done in very small increments, we hardly saw it happening, or, at least, that is how it was for me.
