This past Sunday the Asia-Pacific countries signed a new Trade deal leaving the US put. Now economists think this is going to leave the US behind. Their solution is for Joe Biden to revive the TPP and rebrand it.

Chad Bown, senior fellow with the Peterson Institute, said every time a major trade agreement leaves out the U.S., U.S. businesses pay a price.

“Japan signed a free trade agreement with the European Union; the EU did one with Canada; the EU is doing one with South America,” he said. “The United States has been falling behind, and this is just the latest example.”

He’d advise the Biden administration to revive, modify and rebrand the TPP.

And the reason it needs to be rebranded before its revived is because it will cost the US millions of decent-paying jobs according to sanders.

“I am glad the Trans-Pacific Partnership is dead and gone,” Sanders said. “For the last 30 years, we have had a series of trade deals — including the North American Free Trade Agreement, permanent normal trade relations with China and others — which have cost us millions of decent-paying jobs and caused a ‘race to the bottom’ which has lowered wages for American workers. Now is the time to develop a new trade policy that helps working families, not just multinational corporations. If President Trump is serious about a new policy to help American workers, then I would be delighted to work with him.”

It is interesting NPR calls this China’s giant new trade agreement

But than goes on to describe the deal as modest.

The Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership, or RCEP, is, as trade deals go, modest.

The TPP may not need to be rebranded with headlines like that.

Biden will be returning to the policies of outsourcing and "free for them not for us" trade policies and get us back on the track for the decline and collapse that has been stalled the last 4 years.

Well Trump wanted economic isolation.

This is what it looks like, we all just ignore the USA.

Free trade is two way.

If the US wants massive trade protection, then no one will trade with them because the cost of trading with the USA is more than it it is worth.

15 an hour for all minimum wage workers will be great for them for the first year....
Then their cost of living will have doubled and they'll be right back where they started, but in a higher tax bracket.

Oh, and the rest of us will have taken an effective huge pay cut since our cost of living will also have doubled.

This currency system doesn't work forever, it was never intended to last past 2013.

A 7 dollar an hour decrease in my effective salary wouldn't constitute a doubling of my cost of living.
