If you read some early JV, before he went all ga ga with the IDH, you can read
about some interesting anomalous events he looked into, where there was a
'primary strange person', and as this person traveled around, he seemed to
'infect' those around him.

I think this 'infection model' is a major part of what our spy boys are studying.
You get one person with a potent unconscious mind, perhaps infected with
toxoplasmosis or something, and the images in their mind might tend to
infect some of those they come across.

I wonder if there are 'strange super spreaders' so to speak.

Now again, I'm not saying it's all 'hysteria' or that there is nothing 'there', 'there'.
Not at all. But this seems be a very important element, that has slipped under
the radar so to speak.

Vallee has said that 'something' has always lived beside us. It's invisible, and it interacts with us and influences us . It's always been here.

Yes. He came and sat on my couch and we talked about that.

I shared with him the info I had on that topic.

One story about a strange super spreader involves SCP-049, the Plague Doctor. Link

A quick note about approach and audiences;

I attempt to communicate in a way that both the rationally
inclined and the woo woo inclined can both, perhaps join
in the same conversation.

Frankly, as a species we do not know whether some life form
or sentience has co-evolved with us or not.

In my view, this certainly seems possible.

But that doesn't mean there's anything of necessity "mystical"
involved.

Our Mitochondria were once bacteria that invaded our cells.
We have once 'foreign' flora and fauna that is in our intestines,
that we now depend upon.

I was talking to Pigs yesterday, and he showed me an article
about how an ancient virus invaded our brains and is now part
of how they function.

The truth?

Even with 'mundane science' we are close to being 'symbiotic'
or 'colony creatures' as it is.

That it could run deeper than that would be no surprise at all.

Now, as a former practicing 'shaman', I have much more direct
experience than that.. but I don't claim to perfectly understand
what's going on there...

that's a nod to the more mystically inclined..

I truly don't have a horse in this race anymore.. I just want to
occasionally promote thinking that is more liberating, and helps
us to not be stuck in perceptual silos.

The 'potent unconscious mind' theory is interesting. No doubt there is 'something' out there. There are times when a person can feel it. It's palpable. I think John Keel also had some insight into the subject.

ETA: This has the makings of a very interesting thread.

Yup. Read all his books.

I'm quite familiar with my own unconscious. You have to be, if you
are going to poke around with shamanism/mysticism.

It's even been said, that a large component of 'magic' is simply
bringing the unconscious and conscious into sync through a common
set of symbols. Of course that's also how creativity works.

Frankly, to some degree, that's also how UFOlogy works, when it's not
simple misperception or deception.

Interesting on the one invading our minds. For those inclined to believe the Bicameral Mind theory of so long ago - that could possibly be a good explanation for what was described in that theory.

It comes down to what is being spread? Something physical? Thoughts? Why? "Hi," by the way. Glad to read you. I hope you expand on your thoughts... until then, I'll go tangential, as usual.

It's rather obvious, even to non-shamans who look into the matter, that there are other beings without physical forms, or without forms we can easily measure, anyway... perhaps they are sets of cooperating thoughts, rather than anything we can say is physical?

For as long as humans have been, there are stories of other "people" inhabiting another "realm" that coexists with us. I think discounting such ubiquitous stories is utter hubris.

That "they" seem to effect matter, at least rarely, doesn't necessarily point to a physical nature, especially if the "consciousness is primary" crowd is correct.

Their nature, make-up and relationship to us, if there is any, is endlessly fascinating... to me, anyway.

It's probably important. They're probably the dominant "life" here.

It's a great book.

The premises are not typically favored in science, but there certainly
seems to be something related to the bicameral mind going on.

When you draw a different circle around a chunk of something living
and possibly even 'space time' you get a different being.

context is everything.

context is endlessly changing.

To use a metaphor.. when I sit for a longer period of time with my wife,
i'm a different being, she's a different being.

If I 'freak someone out' with some of my words, it might waken something
inside of them, then they are a different being.

Once you add or subtract information to a living information system
(humans count), you get a different being.

Humans are babies, living in an entropic wasteland.

Did that make sense to you?

Yes, quite a bit of sense.

Imagine if more "info sets" paid attention and took responsibility for the information absorbed or passed on.

Maintaining a link between a low-entropy space time
to a dark world (our pothole universe) must be quite
challenging, if this scenario is correct.

the other thing about that scenario, if it's correct,
is that functionally there would be very little
such hypothetical strands of being could do for
our little space/time.. it's history is already written
in stone, due to initial conditions and entropy.

I mean yes, there is the appearance of QM making
anything possible, but I suspect there is a major
headwind against most more pleasant futures
unfolding in our space/time.

Sometimes the only way to win, is to not play
the game... and we are playing the game..

Kinda hypothetical of course.

'day guys, first-time poster here.

The symbiote, or perhaps one could use the word inclusion, is an interesting concept; the collective consciousness of a colony delivered by virus. "Kundalini snakes" anyone?

I spent 30 years or so studying that topic.

It's a rough one, determining which parts are true and
which parts are self-delusion.

Though insofar as I know, the 'collective consciousness'
is transmitted via hormones and other neurochemicals
capable of crossing the blood brain barrier, not a virus.

That's an interesting thought however; it needs research.

While technically, A link about quantum mechanics is
'thread drift' for a topic regarding 'strange super spreaders',
it's my thread so I will drift. Also of course, if you talk about
UFOs or the occult, and you don't discuss QM, IMHO, you are
still in the kiddie wading pool.

I want to share my favorite 60 minute youtube on the topic
of the history of science, in terms of QM. It's 100% woo free,
but breath-taking, and quite simple to understand.

Have you experienced 'kundalini snakes' in your own body?
Upper ones? Lower ones? Gold ones? Silver ones? Ones
that cause an excretion to run down the throat or over
the outside of the face?
