I have news for you... surgical masks are to prevent transmission past the skin. That doesn't justify wearing a mask at the local hardware store.

Uh...the black plague wasn't a virus it was bacterial spread by fleas. I doubt if a mask would have helped much.

I have seen people wearing a crochet mask... no not the allysa milano stupidity but on a military base, I have seen people walking around with their nose not covered, I have seen people not change their mask once in the course of a day, and I have talked with people that didnt know they should clean a mask.

a saturated mask doesnt stop sqaut (all people that work outside all day in the heat and humidity then go to the store on their way home), close proximity it doesnt help. (say the guys and gals repairing fighters)
