A dearly loved family member was nearly killed in a traffic accident on the Sunday night before last. Still in ICU, has had 5 surgeries.
I often wonder what my death will be like.
I ponder on what would be the best or worst way. I am nearly 62 years old, and have lost people.

Tonight, I was thinking about all the pain, and all the whole dying thing will eventually arrive.

And I wonder what my last words will be....

Depending on the circumstances, of course, everyone's will be different....
what do you think your last words will be?

That's a Very Good Question!
Now seeing as how You signed up here on My Birthday, I have to answer that Question.
I'm guessing that They will probably be, "It Is What It Is"

yeah, sometimes I'm to that point. The longer you live, the more is sucks...and then you die.

But not always! Some times are great!!! I love it when times are great. We have to hang on to those fleeting moments....

"I Live."

Honestly, I don't know. Depends on how I go, and if I am alone or who is with me.

And what I last "see."

I'll say what Steve Jobs did..."Oh wow. Oh wow. Oh wow."

The problem with trying to plan your last words is getting the timing right. You can plan something inspiring, your equivalent of "one small step for man...", and either you don't get the chance to say it, or else it gets replaced by something you added later.

William Pitt's offocial last words were "How I leave my country!". Some years later, a servant reported that his later final words had been "I think I could eat one of Bellamy's meat pies."
Again, the officially reported last words of George V were "How goes the Empire?" But there is a story that his wife tried to encourage him by saying he would soon recover and would be able to recuperate at Bognor Regis (a favourite seaside resort). In response to this, he passed from life with the immortal words "Bugger Bognor!"

Exactly my dilemma.

Will I be alone in a fiery crash? Will I have loved ones there?

Today my thought was: "Miss me" (imagining my loved ones there...)

Such self-absorption....

In such a case mine would simply be, or I would want them to be, "I love you."

Right?? That's the one I hope I get to say...and believe I will.

Yes, that. I know they love me. They know I love them beyond words.
I will miss them.

Precisely the premise of the OP.
