So just how will BERNIE fight for the DNC nomination you ask????

www.foxnews.com...

Bernie Sanders says legalize it, don’t criticize it. The independent senator and 2020 presidential primary contender announced on Thursday his plan to legalize marijuana by executive order within the first 100 days of his administration should he win the White House.

Pretty ambitious plan if you ask me.
One sure to attract some of the vote he lost in 2016 when he acquiesced to Hillary Clinton.

“Too many lives were ruined due to the disastrous criminalization of marijuana,” Sanders wrote in a tweet announcing his plan.

Along with legalizing marijuana nationwide, Sanders also proposed expunging all past marijuana-related convictions and funneling some of the revenue from the legal marijuana business into communities hardest hit by the so-called War on Drugs. “When we talk about criminal justice reform and ending institutional racism in America, we are talking about ending the disastrous War on Drugs, which has disproportionately targeted people of color and ruined the lives of millions of Americans,” his campaign said in a statement. “It is time to admit the criminalization of marijuana was a disaster, especially for communities of color, and allow those most impacted to move forward with their lives. Our job now is to legalize marijuana and vacate and expunge past marijuana convictions, and ensure that revenue from legal marijuana is reinvested in communities hit hardest by the War on Drugs.”

This is an issue, in my opinion, in which BERNIE can gain some ground.
Especially as he, as far as I know, is the first to offer such.

If a person is a shallow one issue voter, this might get that group up off the couch and to their voting station.

I'm all for legalization, but this looks more like a desperate candidate to me.

I'm glad he pulled through his surgery so well. I think he's got good intentions, but his socialistic leanings are too much for me.

For the people this really matters to they do tend to be shallow one issue voters. It's going to mostly be the younger crowd that already love all his freebies though.

It worked for Trudeau here in Canada.

Sometimes low information voters who don't do their due diligence will fall for such tactics.

I fully supported legalization, but would never throw my vote down just because of that one thing.

So, what if Bernie wins and yang is his VP.

If they get in, will we get legal weed and 1K a month?

That's like pretty much free legal pot for everyone.

I thought he was a candidate with character?
It was a popular stance in Canada.
Packed with tegrity.

He's been a state senator for 40+ years, when did pot go legal in HIS state?

40 plus years in Congress and this is the first time this freeloader mentioned this. Unfortunately for Bernie and the bro's Trump will likely legalize it with an EO to further ensure his 2020 victory.

I'm all for it, do it. But! And there's always a but, some people of color, as he puts it are still going to say they're unfairly targeted. See just because you legalize something doesn't mean you can walk around smoking blunts on your lunch break. An employer has every right to either NOT hire someone or fire them for having thc in a drug screening. So if as he claims, people of color apparently smoke and enjoy weed more than any other group, they're also going to be fired and not hired more than any other group. Regardless of legality, a stoned employee is still and undesirable employee. Just my two cents though, I could be way off base.

ETA this is practically begging for young voters, whom he probably has anyway, with the promises of free stuff, so I don't see a huge impact.

How long has Bernie been smoking weed?
That might explain a few things.

But seriously, he is too old, let the commies dream.

Sure, it's ridiculous pandering.

Just like yangs "free money bitches...."(said obviously in stereotypical china man voice).

Lets not rag on them too hard, we can't forget the funniest and most pathetic attempt that joe made eons(it seems) ago.

"If you elect me, I'll cure cancer..."

I dont think he will e.o. the legalization. He's already said numerous times that it should be left up to the individual states to decide.

But it would be cool if he did.
