So I was browsing through the earlier parts of this thread and Archivalist mentioned their concern the projector sound may be a stock sound effect. I thought that was intriguing as people will spend a lot of time and effort for a convincing visual, but altogether forget the quality of the audio. "Find the stock sound effect, if found = hoax." An impossible task to find the exact clip... well I believe I've found that stock audio clip: "cinemato.wav" posted by jlozano on June 7th, 2006 on freesound.org...

Methodology:

* I ripped the original video from ivan0135's YouTube channel, pulling the highest resolution h.264 and AAC audio encoded source file and the audio was decompressed to WAV when brought into Adobe Audition, a process which should be lossless. I will point out this is by no means an original source file, but it's the highest quality source us civilians have to work with as far as I know.

* According to AlienAnonymous' initial post, I also believe that the timing of the video has changed which has pitch shifted the audio.

* I will be working with three audio files:
"alien.wav" - the audio ripped from the original Skinny Bob video
"19556__jlozano__cinemato.wav" - the original sfx downloaded from Freesound
"19556__jlozano__cinemato 44100.wav" - a copy of the sfx time stretched 190% (I explain this figure below)

* Initial listen of the audio portion of the Skinny Bob video and nothing seems overtly suspicious, e.g. no awkward splices, it doesn't sound like the sound source is close mic'ed, and there doesn't seem to be a lack or over abundance of room reverb.

* I brought the original audio into Adobe Audition and visually inspected it. There appears to be a similar group of peaks and troughs repeated through the original audio, a solid indication that our projector sound is looped.



And 19556__jlozano__cinemato.wav



When lined up in Adobe Audition's Multitrack mode, the portions of audio match peak for peak and trough for trough, both different sections of the Skinny Bob video and the Skinny Bob video and cinemato.wav. There is still some drift in the time stretched cinemato clip, but comparing two sections of the original clip and when you flip polarity, they null out sufficiently for me to say there are identical looped sections of the audio.





This is the most damning piece of evidence in my opinion, but there's more...

* Adobe Audition's Spectrograph: A visual representation of the distribution of audio energy. During the cut, there is a minor change in speed which changes the pitch and shifts the spectrum up. Notice the prominent frequency spikes @ 30Hz and 215Hz (referencing the latter half of the clip) and the lack of energy between 1kHz and 4kHz.



* Now lets compare 19556__jlozano__cinemato.wav



And pitched down 190% (manually matched based on the tempo of the projector clicks, and AlienAnonymous's assertion that the video is running at half speed, 200% is too slow) notice the prominent frequency spikes @ 30hz and 220Hz and the lack of energy between 1kHz and 4kHz on 19556__jlozano__cinemato 44100.wav.



Voxengo Multiband Correlometer: A Correlometer measures the difference between stereo channels, 100 each side is the same (mono), 0 is highly different (two different stereo sounds) and -100 is the same sound out of phase (not useful for this, but useful for audio engineers). The audio appears highly correlated, with minor dips in the audible spectrum of 30Hz-2kHz.



* Compared to our time stretched 19556__jlozano__cinemato 44100.wav which shows a similar correlation profile.

With my argument laid out, it's my informed opinion that the projector audio in the Skinny Bob video originates from this free sound effect, cinemato. This puts a huge question mark on the provenance of the video clip, it being "a digital recording of a projected image." Between this and the highly controversial analysis of the video by various vfx and sfx people around the internet, I'd feel confident dismissing this as a hoax and letting it slip down the memory hole.

Even if the sound was added after I would not totally dismiss the actual video(but thats just me) You seem to know what you are doing sound wise so I have to ask. Have you ever had a good copy of the Billy Mires beem ship sound recording? I had a copy but that was from Shirley Maclaine s web site in 2000 and 5 PCs ago. a reply to: TheGlassCube

Fair enough, fair enough. And no, I haven't heard the audio you mentioned. I'm more of an enthusiast with UFOlogy, I'm aware of the grand narrative through the 20th century, and the disinformation havoc Richard Doty and others have done but I'll be the first to say I'm not well versed in many individual cases or pieces of evidence.

Certainly no expert but I own a few 8mm and 16mm projectors, the 16mm being a vintage Bell&Howell.
I have a lot of old films and it seems to me, that due to the feed mechanisms and shutter operations, loose film reels that jerk as they unwind... that you would have all sorts of modal and repetitive sounds from just the way the whole mechanism chain works. IMO, but if you want to run tests on others films, that would be what you would need to do to cooberate that.

so does anyone know about this ? i seen this pic years ago and it never popped into my head until i watched family vacation. could this be confirmation ? notice the height of the two in that image and the height on the family vacation video look at the outfit. im thinking its them it just struck me kinda funny. imo if this image hasn't been debunked id say that they are from the same event or visitation.

More Judy Fältskog? It was established in the beginning of this thread that no real evidence exists tying Judy or her alter-ego to this case. A YouTube tag of "south africa" and "kalahari desert" on the original video doesn't prove (s)he had anything to do with it, it was a major event and there are dozens of other unrelated tags on the video to help it spread. Claims were made that she admitted it but those claims remain unsubstantiated.

I'd say those are fake but regardless of my opinion on that they don't look like the skinny bobs.
The faces/necks are too big and the head is not centered the way the aliens in family vacation are.

I have my doubts but maybe you're right

ya never know sometimes things look different at an angle. for one thing as long as we cant see the real eyes its hard to tell from family vacation. there are alot of similarities though. when looking at skinny bobs actual eyes and not the shade it looks similar to these guys cant really tell about other facial features cause they are not full on. Family vacation looks like it was filmed from a distance and zoomed in where as that phonto looks right on top of them. and the outfit it just about identical to skinny bobs i dont know lol just throwing it out there.

That else do typical gray aliens supposedly wear? Generally speaking, it's either those one-piece tight-fitting suits or they're naked. They're usually not described as wearing a three-piece suit or anything like that.

Digging further into the video, I found it to be originally posted by Judy Fältskog on Youtube, who has posted two other similar videos. Wait a second… is this the same Judy Fältskog who’s “alter ego” is James van Greunen? Wait a second… is this the same Judy/James who is a CGI expert? This might even be the same Judy that got caught up in a Alien signal scam in May of 2010. To make it even worse, Judy/James is buddies with professional fake Wayne Herschel. Or maybe they’re all the same person… who the hell knows. Wayne/James/Judy/Satan is a scam artist that pushes his tripe junk on gullible people.

I have no clue why people continue this farce of a thread. The only established fact is that a mod will check this thread for sock-puppet accounts.

There's no evidence of this. It was sent to many people and uploaded in less than a day but Ivan was first. You can't believe everything you read without evidence.

I've also never seen evidence that Judy Faltskog is a CGI expert, do we have any videos she made?

After investigating the origins of this video, Grant Cameron of PresidentialUFO.com was able to determine that a woman by the name of Judy Fältskog claims to be the source of the video. She told Cameron that she “paid a lot of money for it and spent [two] weeks in Antarctica to arrange the sale of this video.”

The video was posted to YouTube by Fältskog at www.youtube.com... (removed by source). But who is this Judy Fältskog? Through his investigation, Cameron determined that this Judy Fältskog is the same Judy Fältskog who, in 2010, claimed to be an astronomer working for NASA, and announced that she had intercepted and deciphered an intelligent signal from a nearby star.

As Cameron points out, Fältskog’s credentials and claims turned out to be false. And research into Fältskog revealed interesting results including a history of hoaxing, identity changes, and even a sex change. Members of the AboveTopSecret.com website investigated Fältskog’s history, determining that she had previously been James Van Greunen, a South African UFO enthusiast, who alleged involvement in the recovery of a UFO. After being exposed as a fraud, Van Greunen allegedly left South Africa, moved around the world, and had a sex change operation.

Fältskog told Cameron that “there is a lot more footage of this film to be released, [more than] 180 minutes of it as well as other more interesting footage.” But this person’s dubious background strongly supports the notion that this ET video is nothing more than a hoax. It also raises doubt that Fältskog is indeed the source of the video. Fältskog and Cohen seem to have only uploaded this one ET video, while the Alien Disclosure Group uploaded a second video on the same day, which allegedly depicts the downing and recovery of a UFO and ETs by the air force. Both videos are similar aesthetically, supposedly making them from the same batch of “leaked” videos

But to add to the mysterious origin of the video(s), a YouTube user by the name of Ivan0135 uploaded the ET video a day earlier—on May 1st—and the UFO video was uploaded on April 13th. Interestingly, “South Africa” and “Kalahari Desert” are among the string of descriptive keywords attached to the ET video uploaded by Ivan0135. This suggests a connection between Ivan0135 and Judy Fältskog.

If you really need to convince people this one is real you may want to try other sites.

Ivan uploaded the flying saucer long before anyone uploaded Skinny Bob.

It was sent to the Alien Disclosure Group and a handful of others who uploaded it the same day as Ivan and it blew up immediately.

Judy's hoax is known to have been "heard around the world", she was a big name, I'd have sent the video to her as well.
Before she was outed as fake she was a huge name exploding in the alien community, the Kalahari Desert incident became known as the Roswell of South Africa. Others uploaded it before her which leads me to conclude that she did not originate the video.

Im still wondering why 11 years later this cant be recreated. with as much time as people have on their hands during the pandemic. ive seen those cgi images two of bob that someone tried to make and its not even close. hoaxers are usually looking for some kind of attention or profit from what they do. It doesn't look like anyone has made anything or come forward saying yeah its been 11 years i made this fooled you all. Just seems funny i see alot of people claiming they can do this or that or trying to debunk this with editing audio or this and that and yet with all this talent it cant be recreated. its never really covered on any of the major ufo/alien docs yet they will cover some blatant 3rd phase of the moon hoax lol kind of makes no sense.

The use of Ivan along with the fact that his work was first in 3d.sk pointed that he was some russian or slav that just happened to smuggle some kgb file. Notice that the kgb logo appears in many videos in youtube unrelated to skinny bob. The same logo appears in the documentary The Kgb files with Roger Moore.

Was this ivan-nova-judy-phellipe3d many people or one troll wanting to get some laughs. It seems he was one person and one person only. After he run from here tarred and feathered he made a youtube channel attacking both owners and members with accusations of pedophilia which is good base for a lawsuit for slander and defamation of character.
