Especially elected officials on a tax payer salary.

These are people who have been recieving a paycheck and instead of working for the people.
Working on the drug epidemic, or homeless crisis, or veteran care, they are trying to impeach the president on radical charges.

As the commander in chief, he should absolutely use the military to arrest these officials, especially if the FBI and CIA have been shown to be right alongside with them.

In most other countries these people would have been imprisoned a long time ago.

First, they only get protected status if their case is deemed credible. You get punished HARSHLY for abusing whistleblower laws. But as long as you don’t put forward a knowingly false report, which are fairly easy to weed out, you are still supposed to have you identity secret to prevent reprisals.

That would be a violation of oath of office and (another) potentially impeachable offense. The president cannot direct the military to arrest people doing their constitutional duty. That's why we are not a dictatorship.
