CBS News’ 60 Minutes did a report on the AR-15 rifle Sunday night and discovered that the rifle is more powerful than a handgun.

Breaking Not So New News

Imagine that, a rifle has more power, than a pistol...

Honestly, who didn't know this obvious fact?

Seriously, who...

How in the world, is this even news? I actually want to know, what person or group of people would believe the opposite.

Why, is his even in the so called news, it's not news.

Some seriously stupid people at CBS probably need 4 hours to watch 60 minutes...

What's even worse, is there is probably some one out there who would never have known if this breaking discovery wasn't made public.

Just imagine all the people in this world who would have never figured out a pistol is not a rifle, and visa versa...

Honestly, if this is what the alleged news is reporting on, I suspect the next discovery will be to inform the public that Capt Crunch is a hard cereal chew carefully.

They're using the wrong handgun:

Who would have thunk it? Lol. Seriously though, the media can really only have two positions :

A. They are incredibly stupid and have been picked for that attribute.
B. They are slaves/puppets and don't realize it, mouthing the words and betraying their countrymen for money.

Either way, they aren't worth listening to, it would be more beneficial and insightful to have a conversation with lumber.

Cheers - Dave

That, is literally a hand cannon if there ever was one. Definitely beats my .45 ACP, but as awesome as that is, one would have to be hellboy to even consider carrying it let alone concealed. LMAO

That's a badass video, thank you for sharing.

Leave it up to the members of ATS to yet again prove the MSM wrong.

The plan is to make it seem like the AR-15 is somehow especially deadly so they can justify removal from the public. Why didn't they compare it to another rifle? Because something like a common .30-06 would show how much more powerful it was than the AR.
This is the first step in the attempt to confiscate firearms. Lester Holt is a typical idiot news reader that is in cahoots with the socialists and supports their agenda...for the rest of us.

You know what, I have actually had a more insightful conversation with lumber, typically Birchwood and Oaks but some Spruce's are crafty.

Definitely true.

However, an AR 15 platform is basically a suped up 22 with more powder. Seriously, my .22lr cleaning kit and my PA15 5.56/.223 takes same rods and boresnake.

Common sense has left the world when it comes to the masses and general public.

well that depends, I read somewhere not too long ago there is a kit to make an AR-15 into an auto-pistol so...

they would be "equal" to a pistol, in power, becuase it would be the same weapon, just less accurate.

I wish I could embed the video, look for "AR15 pistol"

When discussing building guitars with billets, I find the walnut provides the best arguments with clear and concise delivery. However, I can be swayed by a tag team of mahogany and maple :-)

In any event, the msm is useless, they couldn't make an accurate argument if their careers depended on it (which hopefully they do). I am quite sure many of us are tired of the BS and lies that drip like toxic venom from their gapping pie holes by the minute.

When lawmakers (who have never fired a single round) truly believe they are the subject matter expert it's going to make getting rational solutions impossible.

I would love to ask some of them if they believe armor piercing bullets should have severe penalties because they cause enormous damage internally to people. This of course is false, they cause the least to people but it would become an instant classic response.

Exactly.

Its just ClownBullSh!t (CBS) propaganda, attempting to brainwash the mindless progressive followers.

More powerfull=BAD=Must be BANNED.

It would be laughable except for the brain dead followers that eat this BS up.

Their are too many 'Autumn Witches' worshiping at the alter of madcow instead of thinking for themselves.

Today's journalism at its best. They really have no idea what they're doing because college isn't preparing kids for the real world anymore.

Don't bring up the fact per the FBI that only about 300 people annually are killed with rifles of ANY KIND... compared to the nearly 13,000 killed with handguns.

Let that one marinate a little bit...

I would have preferred seeing how different firearms with different barrel length using different bullets performed.

AR-15's are terrible. At least the one I shot was. My pellet gun buried a pellet as deep into the wooden target as my friend's AR-15 did. We had a good laugh over it, then he sold his AR-15.

Aaaand this is why we can't listen to them about gun policy. They don't know anything. When you offer to educate them, they don't want to hear it.

Of course, this is the same program that did the segment about "ghost guns," ordered all the parts from the internet and made it sound like any dumb schmuck could put it together on his coffee table. They neglected to mention that they actually took the parts to an expert machinist that had to do the work for them, because it's not that easy.

All about narrative. Facts optional.

Get a Ruger AR-556. 37 times as powerful!

What exactly do you mean by "autumn witch"?

I had to search this term, autumn witch, as it's something I'm not entirely familiar with. I am occult educated, and probably know more than the average person would. But no SME by far.

However, I'm not a subscriber to anything wica or interested in it honestly, so I dismiss much of what I see in that area.

So, upon searching and reading what an Autumn Witch may be, I don't see the correlation.

Your usage seems to give her a bad rap, when used in that fashion, so I will post the search result for reference;

autumn witches use the energies of mabon, samhain and the autumn season in their magic. they often work with pumpkin, leaves, fire and candles.

In addition to, if the below image is a classic example of an Autumn Witch, OMG I just found my new trophy wife! Seriously, if all witch's are this attractive, count me in I won't be telling her no.

A 22 Long rifle bullet can take down a deer if a person is a good shot and knows where to aim for. Poachers will use that gun quite often because it is quiet. And that is small compared to a big rifle bullet.

I grew up with guns, I know how dangerous they can be and how accidents can happen sometimes. I know some people are not responsible with guns, and have no problem with classes to teach people responsible ways to use them. I also believe that criminals should not be allowed to have guns unless they have changed into good law abiding citizens years later, not just a few years.

Someone just held up a pasty shop in our local town with a handgun. The guy got around 450 bucks, I wonder if he got pasties too? They caught him about two hours later, they got tracking dogs and trailed him right to his house about four miles away, he walked home. No gunfight at the house, he gave up. That guy is going to go to prison for many years for half a grand. Not too smart, but it happens a lot in the cities. They should let him get beat up by the girl at the pasty shop, she is small but she could probably tear his face all up as part of his punishment. It might help de-stress the girl that was working there when he robbed it.
