A word of warning to they, who still use Face Book. You may want to stop using it completely.

In a highly shady move, the social network has been caught asking some users for the password to the email account they registered with Facebook, reports the Daily Beast. In the notification that pops up for some users, Facebook says it needs to verify they are who they say they are, and one way to do this is to hand over the password to their email account.

The request was first noticed by a user on Twitter: Hey @facebook, demanding the secret password of the personal email accounts of your users for verification, or any other kind of use, is a HORRIBLE idea from an #infosec point of view. By going down that road, you're practically fishing for passwords you are not supposed to know! pic.twitter.com/XL2JFk122l

Thanks Zuckerberg, you're the biggest doink around.

they do this by asking for your telephone number
AOL does the same thing
Make sure when you on onto AOL or Facebook your phone is turned off
Google may also have access to your phone if it is on wifi, but not sure

Anyway, fb is something people should stay away from, please tell your kids that especially if they want to get a govt. job or run for office

I've worked in it for 30 years
I've seen people lose their job for sharing a uc/pw
*NEVER* share your password. Period.

I'm sure Facebook already knows all your passwords.

That sounds like someone is trying to hack user accounts with malware.

I can't imagine facebook is doing that.

I do have an account but rarely log in and never post on it.

When I try to login on anything but my phone it always asks me to verify who I am via my phone number, dodgy as hell.
While on the topic of dodgy, does ATS still require FB details for new members?
I would never have signed up if that was a requirement when I did, its a conspiracy site fecks sake!!!

Also why is ATS the only site on what seems to be the entire web that has that big red "not secure" msg on my browser bar?

I dont know how others do it but I have a gmail account specifically for things like facebook.
All of the "junk" mail goes directly the the account with no real content.

Facebook has turned into a nightmare for me. My wife originally talked me into it, then quickly turned to “who is that girl, why is she talking to you, why did you like a picture” even leaving nasty comments on stuff. Don’t get me wrong I love her, I blame the beast they let loose.
I have to check on her like a child because she will play the fishing games. You know the ones that ask for your pets name, moms name, kids name, all for fun! Copy repaste please! Those are all set up for password clues.
I hate it! But kept it for music gigs I do.

Zuckerberg looks like an alien, probably is one. I think aliens have invaded and are using the bodies of the hard lefties as hosts. Makes sense, especially since the way they want to help America would lead to its downfall and destruction (do they really even understand this, are they really doing the thinking there?). Then on to the next most powerful country.

Anyways, shut Facebook down along with all social media sites. They're all a cancer on our society.

Just ignore it

Facebook wants access so they can mine your email for data. They are also trying to get all your Protected Medical Information to mine for data.

I am willing to bet that half to three quarters of the people using the net are only on it for social media with a minor use of shopping.
