What people have to realize A.I. is here. Intelligent algorithms are everywhere and machines learn how to play everything from chess to poker.

Believe it or not, all these faces are fake. They have been synthesized by Nvidia’s new AI algorithm, a generative adversarial network capable of automagically creating humans, cats, and even cars.

The only thing it needs is a Quantum computer. Then you will see a singularity or explosion of intelligence.

Not only the generative adversarial network is capable of autonomously creating human faces, but it can do the same with animals like cats. It can even create new cars and even bedrooms.

Nvidia’s system is not only capable of generating completely new synthetic faces, but it can also seamlessly modify specific features of real people, like age, the hair or skin colors of any person.

The applications for such a system are amazing. From paradigm-changing synthetic free-to-use image search pages that may be the end of stock photo services to people accurately previewing hair styling changes. And of course, porn

Any person or news event can be faked an eventually, it will be so real, there will be investigations into AI created news events. With your DNA, they can make it look like you killed someone. They can have footage of you being at the crime scene and with your DNA planted on the scene, you're looking at life in prison. THE FUTURE IS HERE!

the boundary between real and fantasy seems to be getting more blurry every year.

I know. I'm not even real, but look at me, posting on the Internet like a boss.

Truly wonderful and frightening

The implications of these advances in tech will change our lives in ways that we can’t even imagine

Let’s hope it’s used for good, though as you outline, this easily could be used for very bad purposes

Wait until "it" can create actual artificial humans for use in the real world.

Won't be long before we can say buh-bye to those Hollywood Elite folks. Who needs $20M prima donna actors when they can be generated for pennies.

Now, how to get the AI actors to push socialism ......

That's right.

You can see AI generated Actors and Actresses who make 500 million dollar blockbusters and you don't have to pay them 20 million dollars per movie.

Imagine, AI can make new movies with John Wayne or Bettie Davis. You will have Stars who died in 1960 competing at the box office with new Stars.

I guess it will now be possible to artificially generate those often talked about "pee tapes" of Trump and the hooker? Wonderful. Just wonderful. "By any Means Necessary" just got worse.

I'm not too worried then.

This technology will put Hollywood stars out of business. Well, think about it, the big Hollywood companies will not have many sexual harrassment lawsuits anyway. A lot of what we see in movies is not real, computer generated images tacked on a background makes up the set.

Lots of people in Cali will be out of work when AI takes over their jobs, perfect women and men all created by a computer. Good luck trying to find a star in the restaurant in Cali, they won't really exist.

They'd still need voice actors though... although I suspect they can duplicate that as well at some point. I have a hard time believing that AI would be able to curse like Sam Jackson or give a bad ass retort like a Dinero. This could kill secondary or extras though. No need to hire a ton of extras anymore.

Porn will likely be the first real use of the tech. Actors could engage in porn but then have their faces concealed.

The criminal possibilities are scary.

and I said how many criminals or terrorists have been faked in the past

ETA: these pictures were created last year by Nvidia

Probably mentioned before.. the film industry can create a-list actors with all the features women...and men adore. Those huge salaries will not be needed and all the profits can stay with the investors of the movie. Companies will without a doubt have applications for such a "face" too in combination with an AI who has past the Turing test.

This will probably cause adjustment in legislation too.. The world is changing fast...all we need is that damn new energy source we are all waiting for and can put the combustion engine on the shelve.

Well, you will still probably have to pay somebody for their image. Bela Lugosi, Jr., has been a real advocate for that and has gotten some pretty strong laws passed regarding image ownership.

But yeah. Star Wars. Now featuring Elvis as Han Solo, James Dean as Luke, Judy Garland as Leia, Lionel Barrymore as Obi-Wan, and Andre the Giant as Chewbacca.

Although you can imagine that after a few hundred years we might get tired of seeing the same people in the same movies all the time.

Personally, I always thought smiling people look fake (like mannequins) because people don't naturally smile for no reason. I specifically remember being taught to fake smile for photos when I was a kid and I'll bet most other people do too.

What's not to say some being created us in the same way? We just "think" we are human. Let that sink in.

I can see in the near future the inner skeleton of a humanoid robot, getting its silicon skin printed to resemble anyone the purchaser wants. Then run on wireless power around the house, the mind boggles. If I have the model as myself can I send it to work and earn money? can it have the same rights as me, since its supporting me. It might be that the moment this tech comes along we just are not ready for the Laws and consequences. Since it will most probably have internet access , it will be able to fix the car, and then do a home live birth, after doing a heart transplant.
