Report: Saudis to Confirm Khashoggi's Murder

It's CNN who broke this story and the sources are unnamed. If it this turns out to be what the Saudi Arabians do, it's going to be really interesting to see what the reaction is.

This would be at least on par with things we've sanctioned other countries for — Russia for the murder of Sergei Magnitsky as an example. However I can't remember a US president in my lifetime really ever taking a hard line with Saudi Arabia despite their support for terrorism, human rights abuses, etc. Trump has shown even more signs of having an even more intense love affair with the House of Saud.

Saudis preparing to admit Jamal Khashoggi died during interrogation, sources say

Ankara, Turkey (CNN)The Saudis are preparing a report that will acknowledge that Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi's death was the result of an interrogation that went wrong, one that was intended to lead to his abduction from Turkey, according to two sources.

One source says the report will likely conclude that the operation was carried out without clearance and transparency and that those involved will be held responsible.

One of the sources acknowledged that the report is still being prepared and cautioned that things could change.

On a serious note, we could punish them by making them the head of the human rights council for the UN. I mean, they have a seat....

Imagine the anguish they'll have to go through hearing how we should give people more rights, or treat them with kindness at all.

This man wasn’t a American citizen and therefore should not be a concern to our nation. I could pretend to be outraged, but frankly we have a lot worse things going on here at home that need attention.

We need to keep our focus on problems here at home before we go out of our way to tell other sovereign nations what they are doing wrong.

Trump's reluctance to deal with this (like always) has been linked to financial ties to the kingdom (I know, old news), but I have to wonder if there isn't more to it.

Khashoggi worked for WashPo. It's been suggested Kushner was feeding him the names of dissidents

Haley resigned according to sources a week before the 9th - approximately when Khashoggi went missing. It's also been reported that Trump knew about this as soon as it happened
