I'm from Concepción and have been working in Santiago for little over a a year. On May 10 this year I decided to take some photos at Parque Forestal, taking some 10 shots which I downloaded to my PC the following day .

I thought it would be interesting to photograph a group of Carabineros (state police) on horseback patrolling the sector. The photo was taken at 17:40 hrs approximately from the corner of JM de la Barra and Av. Cardenal José María Caro, in front of bellas Bellas Artes and looking east.

It was a cloudy day and the sun was hidden, for which reason my digital camera ( Kodak DX6490) adjusted to low speed (1/10 seg.).

This is the reason why the photo shows motion (those knowledegable about photography will know the reason why)Furthermore, the Carabineros were som 20 meters distant, and I employed the camera's optical zoom (10x) which added to the blurred result. .

The fact is that I am very impressed by this image. I attest to the fact that it is not a fraud nor anything similar. For this reason I have made it public and I contacted the staff of CIFAE Chile. I would like to know the true nature of the image that appears in it and if anyone has ever caught anything similar in a photo. Nothing more.

Is Chile Creature A Dover Demon?

From Troy
5-26-4

Could this "non-human" caught on film be a Dover Demon?

The creature in the photograph (assuming it's not a hoax or some sort of film defect) immediately reminded me of the "Dover Demon" -- the name given to a creature seen by several witness in Dover, Massachusetts in 1977.

Pixies are much smaller, I would think. But then again, I thought the Dover Demon was supposed to be bigger then the thing in the photo...O_o

BTW......That thing is in the SAME EXACT walking position as the Bigfoot in the patterson footage. WTF!

I have seen this posted before as a possible Alien. Never seen it presented as a Dover Demon which is weird since its was not taken anywhere near Dover Mass.

If that picture is real that thing would have to be like a 1 ft tall or something. The size and body shape would IMO rule out any chance of it being a small child.

Demon of Dover:

The first sighting of the Dover Demon occurred at 10:30pm on April 21st of the year 1977. Seventeen year old Bill Bartlett was driving though Dover Massachusetts with two of his friends when his headlights revealed a small creature creeping along a low stone roadside wall. As his vehicle approached the creature he was able to see it clearly and described it as approximately three to four feet in height, hairless, with a large head, no nose, elongated limbs, and large orange eyes.

Approximately two hours later, fifteen year old John Baxter reported seeing a similar creature on his way home from his girlfriend’s house. He claims that while walking along the side of the road he noticed a small figure walking towards him. Believing it to be someone he knew Baxter called out to the figure. The figure suddenly stopped and darted down one side of the adjacent gully and up the far bank. Baxter pursued the creature and got a good look at it, he describes it as having a large head and a very thin long body. After seeing the creature clearly he became scared and ran home as fast as possible.

The next evening eighteen year old Will Taintor and fifteen year old Abby Brabham were driving home at around 12:00am and claim to have seen a similar creature crouched by the side of the road.

After his experience Bill Bartlett drew several sketches of what he saw, here is one as an example:

The pictures match every description of the Dover Demon given by eye witnesses from size to the elongated disproportionate head to the spindly limbs. I am no expert; however, I can see no obvious signs that this picture is a forgery. If he has time I will get Greyhaven7 to run it through some simple filters to see if he can find anything obviously wrong with the image. Pisky, if you can find the other post regarding this as an alien sighting would you mind linking it here so I can check it out? SkyGuy, thank you for bringing this up, I have done some light research on the Demon and I have never come across this story as a Demon related sighting. On a side note that struck me upon reading this post, Chile has been the location of many recent El Chupacabra Sightings as well. Perhaps there is some connection between these two sets of sightings.

As a connoisseur of Pixy legends, I can state categorically that some pixies are shapechangers
...

The pixy is usually envisaged as being small, although some are known to possess certain shapeshifting abilities resulting in a height range of between eighteen inches to the size of a fully-grown human adult.

That does look very much like the Dover demon except for the size. The Dover demon was reported at about 4 ft tall. I would have to estimate the creature in the picture at about a 1 ft -1 1/2 ft

Beside the height i would say its spot on.

BTW Is it just me or does the dover demon look more like a alien then a demon?

the fact that he took pictures that he knew would not come out properly is the first thing that sets off my fraud meter, the fact that the first picture has been run though at least one filter (greyscale) just about bends the needle.

however, this is still one of the best pix i have seen in a while, and it is a bit to much of a coincidence for me that it looks EXACTLY like what some kids in dover saw years ago...

if its not an alien is it an imp? imps have tails i think, but its the right size. my guess is 18-24 inches.

Can anybody disprove the validity of this particular picture?
I don't have a program that can piece together pictures and count them off as frauds, but maybe some of you have the ability to see if this picture was altered in any way?

I don't know, it kind of looks like it can be a dog, whose body is facing the camera. What looks like its arm being projected would be its tail. Maybe. Nice picture, though.

Have you seen how the far horse is walking ?

The ' Demon ' appears to be almost level with the back of the horse, when my own horse sees something he doesnt know he shys away from it which is what this horse looks like it is doing.

Just a thought .

Nice pics though.............
