ahhhh there we go.

the progressive agenda is very dangerous... I wonder... where did it come from and who's behind it and why?

are the progressives also responsible for the Federal Reserve?

Yes, actually.

Progressivism came from the writings of Hegel. As did Communism, Socialism, Fascism, etc.

I suppose I need to do a thread on the roots of Progressivism, although I would suggest if you want to be brought up to speed on it in America read Mark Levin's book Rediscovering Americanism.

He goes through the ideology of Progressivism, its roots and where it is today.

And I apologize to the Mod Gods for allowing thread drift and will stop there.

On the immigration and sanctuary city issues, local and state seems to trump Federal.

interesting... need to read up on Hegel. I've never looked into those political philosophies to heavily because I find the federalist vs anti Federalist and reading classical liberal ideas IE Jeffersonian liberalism to really be all the political philosophy I need

if it ain't voluntary it ain't for me, big government mind your damn business if that's not included in a political philosophy I'm not interested

I’m a VA resident with a CC permit... surprisingly easy to get by the way. An online test and paperwork filed at the court house.

I openly carry more than I conceal though...especially when hiking, kayaking and generally just doing outdoorsy stuff.

It’s funny how people look at me odd bc they just don’t understand that it’s legal lol.

Being a woman makes it even more confusing lol.

Usually they assume I’m law enforcement

I get the same thing when I'm out of state but open carry. We hike a lot.

So they don't know whether to be confused that I have a gun or confused that I'm a woman carrying one.

Kinda funny if you think about it.. you would think that a woman packing in the forest would be more understandable.

So we're good to go in California?

Yeah but you might be the one sitting in jail for a few years until it’s finally makes it’s way to the Supreme Court to get it turned over. You got his bro go ahead, I’ll put some money on your books

You do realize that since it is a federal appeals court ruling, it is now the law of the land unless the Supreme court overturns it?

So no, you would not be sitting in jail until the Supreme court rules on it.

I am so happy that I live in a state where open carry is legal and concealed carry is legal without a license out of city limits.

Y'all have just gone batsh!t crazy over what should be a simple concept.

"Shall not be infringed"

I thought it was already the law of the land because of that part in the constitution that says “shall not be infringed”. That’s why I figured they were wrongfully holding the guy and he had to wait for the Supreme Court to rule on it.

Like FamCore said local governments might not care and they might lock you up anyways and just hold you until you appeal it and win the appeal. What’s stopping them from doing that?

There's a really large man that takes the same bus as me in the morning, and he openly carries. Actually it makes me feel safer tbh. It's all about the image you project when doing so. Now if said large man wore sagging pants and sported a metal grill and smelled of the loudest sticky icky, I'd be nervous and get off at the next stop.
Note I did not specify the race of the former or latter, and if I did the results may surprise you.

Well hello kindred spirit 😂

Nice to finally meet you!!

To me it makes way more sense for females to open or conceal carry...being the lesser sex and all 🤣

I always like to point out that we are the smaller sex... as far as the lesser sex, let's see how much sex you get without our consent.

But yes, female carry should be a no-brainer.

And hello to you too... nice to meet a kindred spirit as well!

I'm the rare one who thinks the 2nd also allows an American citizen to own a tank if they could afford it! Anything uncle Sam has, I citizen taxpayer should have the right to own too!

As a lifetime member of the NRA I'm going to say "No" to that idea. I'm not thinking "to keep and bear arms" has much to do with tanks, or F-18's, or nukes. Sorry.

He’s right. Equal firepower to oppose a radical gubment.

Not saying I agree... just saying if ur going to level the playing field... level it fairly

+1 for the good guys. I’d like to think it’s because the liberal judiciary is starting to understand the constitution; I suspect, however, it’s because they don’t want to be overturned by a conservative SCOTUS.

Then you thought wrong?

Lesser Federal court rulings are what actually hold sway. Until ruled on by the Supreme court on their Constitutionality.

Unless you missed the Muslim ban fiasco. (couldn't do anything until ruled unconstitutional by the Supreme court.)

Unless you missed the lower court ruling on immigrant children being detained.

Unless you missed the lower court ruling on Sanctuary cities and withholding Federal funds.

Just typing some recent ones.

A second pro gun pro second amendment ruling by the 9th circus within the last week... They also struck down Californias ban on magazine size.

WTF?

A case did makes its way to the supreme court dealing with open carry a few years back and scotus opted not to hear the case. This ruling will most likely be appealed by Hawaii to the Supreme Court however given the 9th's ruling they could again opt not to take the case, leaving the 9th's ruling as final.

The irony in using a ruling by the 9th circus to overturn gun control laws...
