Pride Parade Bans Drag Queens Over Fears They'll Offend Trans People

Free Pride Glasgow, which bills itself as being a "non-commercial"
and more open-minded alternative to the traditional Glasgow LGBT
pride events, is taking drastic steps to prevent the oppression of
marginalized peoples, banning drag queens from its annual parade.

After extensive consideration, the Free Pride Glasgow committee
members decided that having men dressed as women giving
stellar performances during the event would be offensive to
transgender individuals, and that non-binary people within
their ranks would be “uncomfortable with having drag performances."

They'll miss the feather boas and the glittery footwear, but
"the needs of the most marginalised groups within our
community come first,"

Ever since they started adding extra letter to LGBT 🏳️‍🌈 (I think it’s now officially LGBTTQQIAAP) it has led to divisions within the movement. A banner that was meant to unite the elements to challenge the prejudice faced in daily life has become fractured. Everyone wants their own special letter and unique identity.

Just add DQ to the end and be done with it. They’re still arguing over why lesbians come first!

The asexual community never gets invited either. We have very poor representation on film and TV as well. The only somewhat asexual character I can think of was Sheldon Cooper and he's played by a homosexual and has a love interest. Talk about marginalized members of society. For shame.

OP, why on earth do you even care? sounds like it's nothing to do with you and you're quite proud of it... so why not leave them to work out these issues on their own, since they actually know something about them?

I was informed tonight - - in regards to planning a Pride event - - the correct way is LGBT+

Drag queens are trans as well, they just happen to be vestite instead of gender.
What a bunch of clowns, get a grip people, gender dysphoria is a euphemism for mentally unstable, if you have X or Y chromosomes they are what you are. We are becoming normalised to the acceptance of ridiculous attitudes instead of seeing it for the non-issue it really is.
