scientists have created the first interspecies sheep-human chimera, introducing human stem cells into sheep embryos, resulting in a hybrid creature that's more than 99 percent sheep – but also a tiny, little bit like you and me.
Admittedly, the human portion of the embryos created in the experiment – before they were destroyed after 28 days – is exceedingly small, but the fact it exists at all is what generates considerable controversy in this field of research.
While still early days, the experiment might one day lead to lab-grown human organs that can be transplanted into those who need them, potentially saving thousands of lives.
This is a proof-of-concept experiment showing that human-pig hybrids are possible. The ultimate goal is to find a way to use these lab-grown human parts for transplants.

No prob, mate.
Looks like there's really some progress which had been done since this cow thing. I cannot help but feel awkward about the whole idea though.
(You could have left your link up, it actually showed how it all started )

That was cow-humans, this is sheep-human hybrids.
eta: Here is your link back! ATS, 2006: Human-cow hybrids?
Hey Swanne! Wake me when they get to ManBearPig! I'm cereal!
Thanks for posting this! The march of science is strange, cool, and terrifying, all at the same time! The cow-human one was for embryo research (so they say). This one says "organ donor" is the end goal. Hum? I thought CRISPR was supposed be the latest, greatest thing to come down the turnpike.
Is this an either/or thing, or do you think both techs live side by side?
