Somalia regains control of airspace management after 27 years
The Somali government on Thursday announced that it has officially regained control and management of its airspace after 27 years being run by the United Nations International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) regional office in Nairobi.

Somali President Mohamed Abdulahi Farmajo officially inaugurated the offices and equipment installed at Mogadishu International Airport on Thursday and said that the move represents a significant step towards the development of the country.

"It is a great honor for us to witness this historic day that we retake control and management of our airspace. This did not come simply and luckily, but through hard work," Farmajo said.

He thanked the officials of the Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation for their efforts as well as ICAO which has been running the airport.

He added that taking over the running of Somalia's airspace is part of his government's commitment to restore important public services.

Somali Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation, Mohamed Abdulahi Salad, said that all equipment for the control of the airspace is ready and secure with its staff who are currently based in Kenya's capital city of Nairobi.

Well this is not really about any particular aircraft, but is aviation related. Somalia finally has control over the management of its airspace after 27 years under UN oversight. It does not really matter that the Federal government of Somalia is also now a puppet vassal of the empire. At least they are managing their own air though. Good job guys!
Somalia reclaims its airspace control from ICAO

Yea for sovereign rights and all that !! However, if I had to fly IMC or even VFR in Somalian airspace I think I would feel a whole lot safer with the U.N. controllers

(Emphasis added)

Now that Somalia is run by a US Citizen...

...Puppet state full steam ahead.

Somalia's parliament has elected to the presidency a former prime minister with dual Somali-U.S. citizenship and — until very recently — a job at the New York Department of Transportation.

Somalia has given up control of its airspace, not "regained" it.

Yes well I did establish that they are a vassal puppet in the OP. Both the UAE and Turkey also have now a presence in Somalia as well, to train their police of course ...

The headline about 'regaining control' of its airspace is a lie.

Think twice before parroting Goebbels Propaganda, here.

They are managing their own air traffic control is the point here. Does Saudi Arabia not manage its own skies even though they work for the empire? Does France and the UK??

Maybe if you did not try and make everything about how evilz der evilz empire is all the time you can check back into reality now and then.

I already showed how the puppet dictator there is a US citizen and how Somali airspace is really monitored from Kenya. That means Drone strikes, a clear violation of Somali Sovereign airspace.

Us is firmly in control of Somalia, for now.

Once again you get things wrong.

Somaliland: Somalia Aviation Minister Announces Mogadishu Take Over of Airspace Management Near Completion

The Minister established that the Flight Information Services office presently stationed in Nairobi, Kenya, will completely move over to Mogadishu from mid-January 2018, and that equipment currently installed at the Nairobi FISS office will be dismantled and installed at other ‘Somalia’ aviation centers by March 2018.

Indeed, but substitute 'parroting Goebbels' with the words- 'creating new'.

The entire point here was that Somali people are now managing their airspace from inside of Somalia. However, interptr is correct on the point that Somalia is in fact a vassal of the empire, to which I declared openly in the OP.

However, he tends to get carried away with insisting on pointing that out whenever he can, and occasionally misses the entire premise of the topic.

What bothers me is that Turkey has sided with Iran and Pakistan while still being a NATO state, and they opened up their own base inside of Mogadishu last October. Are they planning to undermine us here too?? Thats another topic though for another thread.
