Trump says he'll militarize local police, takes jab at Obama administration

During an FBI graduation ceremony President Trump stated:

Just as I promised, we are allowing our local police to access surplus military equipment. Something the previous administration, for some reason, refused to do. Explain that one. Explain it to me please.

Applause from the audience briefly interrupted the president as he spoke. The restrictions were put into place by the Obama administration in 2015 as questions arose out of concerns regarding the hyper-militarization of local police.

I mean sure, it's justifiable in some sense, but then the wonderful thing about ideas like militarizing the police and building walls along our border is that it just makes it easier to declare martial lock-down and treat everyone who isn't an outspoken supporter of the government as 'enemy combatants'.

Of course I could be wrong, it's not like governments throughout history have taken things too far before right?

Sure I used work with police in hand to hand training, and my best friend and assistant wrestling coach is an officer, he also dislikes going out with fat lazy cops.
