Socialists will happily fork over their money to the government for the "greater good" despite the fact that they're always complaining about poverty and federal corruption. Its comical. Why would you think that giving a criminal organization more money could ever make things better?

On the other hand, the Evangelical alt-right are always whining about how the government steals via taxation, and how taxes need to be cut across the board, yet they are happy to fork over at the very least 10% of their earnings to the local churches. They call this the TITHE. Tithing was an Old Testament tax used to support the function of the Levitical Priesthood, and it was an agricultural tax, not monetary. Evangelicals hypocritically overlook the fact that the OT Law was fulfilled by Christ in totality. Yet the majority of churches still insist that the Tithe is a spiritual mandate.

So both Socialists and Evangelicals want to pay unnecessary taxes. How can we stir the pot an make the tyranny worse? Oh yeah! Lets get a bunch of charismatic Evangelical psychopaths to brainwash the alt-Christians into believing that Donald Trump is the Lord's anointed. Then they'll be happy to pass a bill that only offers half-ass tax cuts. Now we can just direct our Tithes to Cheeto Jesus.

Socialists: If you like your tax, you can keep it.

alt-Christians: “Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, so that there may be social engineering in My house, and test Me now in this,” says the LORD of hosts, “if I will not open for you the windows of heaven, and pour out for you a debt until it overflows.

Its sad. There is no question that government spending is out of control. So its really Washington D.C. that needs to go on the financial diet, not the voters. If you're going to reform taxes, get rid of the bracketing system and transition to a flat rate with cuts across the board. Stop the stupidity people. Use your atrophied brains for once. Think for yourselves.

It is a bastardization of the word Christian.

Of course, the government can compel you to fork over your money through force of law. No church can do that.

I don't agree with the approaches to tithing many churches take these days, but they still cannot force you to give any more than a big corporation can.

Since both groups are human, they are 99.99999999999999% alike in every conceivable way.

Yep. Sometimes we hate our enemies because they are exactly like ourselves.

The far left and the far right both have many things in common. They are usually racists, sexist, and bigots. On the far right you have religious extremist and on the far left you have extreme cultists (sjws).

They are basically the same in most ways. Don't think of left center and right like a 2D ruler on the table.

Think of it like the 3D equator around our planet. We have the center and then left and right. The far left keeps going left while the far right keeps going right at the same speed and they meet on the other side as extremists. That's why they are so similar.

They are both used to justify extreme measures like war, for instance. Blame the extremists on the other side for 'drastic' measures.

It doesn't sound to me like you understand what tithing is for. Tithing is not only used to support church congregations in reaching out to others (including missionaries) to spread the Gospel, but it's also used to assist others in times of need as a means of outreach, like feeding the hungry in the community, etc.

Offerings (which are basically donations) are for the ministries of a church. Tithing is an OT tax which does not exist within the NT.

Tithing is an offering, you're just playing word games.

One big difference buddy... The church does not put a gun to your head demanding their cut like the gov does- It's 100% voluntary, and that's the number you should be focusing on.

No, I'm not playing word games. Look up tithing and offering in OT Law. Tithing was a mandatory tax paid to support the Levitical priesthood. Withholding the tithe was illegal. Offerings were voluntary donations.

There's a big difference between taxation and donation

That is a big difference. However, a big commonality is that both groups use propaganda to brainwash their followers. You should read into the Seven Mountains mandate, which much Trump's administration subscribes to. If they had it their way, their brand of christianity would be legally mandated.

The church is FAR WORSE. They'll tell you that you will burn in hell for eternity.

That's a lie and now you're spreading your own propaganda.

While Christians do believe that we would have less corruption and a better society if more people followed God or practiced godly ways, the belief that Trump's administration would try to mandate that is extreme foolishness and delusion on your part.

First of all, most Christians know that according to the Bible, society is going to get much worse before Jesus comes back to save the day. No one that I know (or have ever heard of) has ever believed that we are required to force people into living some kind of heavenly kingdom on earth in order to get Jesus to return. That's nonsense and it goes against Biblical teaching.

Alt-Right Evangelical X-tian's!??

Man what are you smokin' over there?

There is no such animal except in your drug fueled dreams.

Oh and just as a matter of fact if they could not bring their "Agricultural Tax" as you call it, the tithe (which was three times a year BTW), they were allowed to sell it and give the money to the Priests.

Well, Trump's admin is full of members of charismatic denominations, which do hold dominionist ideas like the Seven Mountains Mandate, so it really isn't a stretch of the imagination. Trump has already signed an EO to allow religious organizations to get involved in politics without losing tax exemption. He's made it clear that he thinks abortion should be illegal, with a criminal penalty, and they desperately want to re-introduced prayer into PUBLIC schools.

Some christians believe its their duty to force Christ on to the world. Its been attempted in the past, and its about to happen again.
