This is no different than saying that the people alive during the Second World War needed to become used to nights in Anderson shelters, or hiding in the underground from the air raids. This is no different than saying that those around during the height of IRA activity, needed to be used to the escape drills in their buildings. This is no different what so ever, and furthermore, by insisting that people prepare themselves to go about their business DESPITE the threat, he is in fact echoing the very spirit of what it is to be British.

He is, in fact, suggesting that we can get used to the situation, because we have before, and only by doing so have we ever overcome anything. And do you know what? If I was Mayor of London, I would have said precisely what he did, probably in the exact same words.

Try this head line:

"a major food producer has issued an immediate recall on 10% of it's product. It has been shown to cause death and severe injury to those that ingest it and those around the product itself. Repeat - A major food producer has issued a recall on 10% of it's product as it can be fatal on contact and to those in the vicinity of the product."

You'd want more magic words wouldn't you?

Oh no not more magic words.
Are they not terrorists?

So during the inquisition, it would be wrong to say that people were killed and tortured in the name of Christ?
It was just due to some misguided folks?

How did it ever happen that a Muzzie got to be mayor of London in the first place is what I wanna know.

Muzzie ? Just shows that people like yourself are part of the problem. A muslim will always be a muzzie no matter if he/she is a doctor, cab driver, won a gold medal at the olympics or major of London.
Your parents must be really proud.

Whatever, we're just infidels to them.

ISIS is currently killing more muslims than any other group. Those gays that got thrown off the buildings...Muslim, the people who get crucified and left on sticks with their skin missing for not joining..Muslim, the pro Assad forces trying to drive them out of Syria..Muslim. If anybody can say with any certainty that Khan is a card carrying ISIS supporter simply because hes Muslim I would love to see the evidence because it sounds like pure paranoia.

Khan should immediately resign.

He has sat on his hands whilst people died. These murderers were allowed to carry out their plan, despite being well known to law enforcement. Not only did he fall asleep at the wheel, he is now spinning that he has no resources to track these known radicals, yet he does have the resources to investigate Katie Hopkins for asking 'Western men' to stand up via twitter...being reviewed by 'specialist officers' no less.

Khan's alleged links to radical islamists seem to carry more weight now, given his failure to do anything but talk.

There is just one problem with you're argument; While the bombs were dropping in WW2, Briton's weren't marching around with signs saying "Not All Nazis!" When the IRA was bombing government buildings, the authorities weren't going on TV saying "Don't be Irishphobic!" The UK government took PROPER measures to ensure the safety of it's people, no matter the cost.

What you're seeing today is a complete failure of politicians in the UK who put political correctness and the rights of murderers above the safety of their own children. And it's the liberal PC attitudes of people like you who are enabling this.

I mean... how #ing STUPID do you're leaders have to be to house known Muslim extremists right next door to a childrens primary school? UK better un# itself quickly.

Yes, and they are terrorists specifically stating they are Islamic in their beliefs right before they terrorize. So why not call a spade a spade?

Konduit,

Actually, there were concientious objectors in World War Two, which was an unarguably more just war than the one being prosecuted in the Middle East currently. There were sixty thousand confirmed COs during the WW2 era, or there abouts.

And they also existed during the First World War as well, although the movement gained significant traction when the aftermath of WW1 was realised, which lead to them having greater official numbers during the Second World War.

Nowadays being anti-war is enough, one does not have to conscientiously object to war, because there is no conscription or forced service of any kind, certainly not in this country anyway. As it happens, one of the key reasons given for people becoming objectors, was that they could not believe that all the individuals that war would destroy the lives of, were guilty of propagating the scenario or ideology being combated by its prosecution. Now, how much I agree with their choices as a movement, depends largely on the enemy. A massive, official, uniformed, state of the art military superpower which shows a capacity to take territory rapidly, from well equipped official armies, while putting to death anyone who does not match their genetics and beliefs... that military superpower needs to be bought down.

But we are not dealing with a military superpower, with aircraft carriers, with huge battleships and submarines, fighter planes and bombers at its disposal. We are talking about a bunch of witless peons who have no ability to launch heavy strikes against our country, no war gear of any note or power what so ever, just a heap of small arms, and the odd anti-aircraft or anti-material weapon, and a group mind you, which was created explicitly by the activity and the machinations of our own intelligence services, and those of the US, for the purpose of destabilising nations in which we have a vested, normally mineral or strategic interest.

As for the Irish issue, PLENTY of people in this country objected to the way the Irish were treated by the armed forces, by the government and indeed by some British citizens. You said...

When the IRA was bombing government buildings, the authorities weren't going on TV saying "Don't be Irishphobic!" The UK government took PROPER measures to ensure the safety of it's people, no matter the cost.

Guess what? The government taking proper measures to ensure the safety of its people, does not mean promoting or permitting hatred. The government taking proper measures to ensure the safety of its people does not mean permitting the poor treatment of innocent people, and no, the safety of this country "at any cost" is not something that anyone who deserves to be called British would ever subscribe to. If it costs us our humanity, it is not worth it. If it costs the people being represented by those who will dishonour their name, and the name of the nation, it is not worth it. If it costs the destruction of the only things about this country and the way it works which have value, then no, defending it is meaningless.

If you are truly telling me, that in order to defend our nation, we need to put up with intolerance, hatred, violence against innocent people in our own back yard, and the likes of Tommy Robinson, I can only say this.

I would be far likely to go to war with him, and his ilk, than any nation largely full of innocent people caught up in a nightmare scenario. You know why? Because it is what my grandfathers would have done.

Isn't it interesting now that TM has suggested that human rights laws need to change which should have happened after the London tube attacks!

This is the only way to deal with those known (20,000). Everyone needs to be processed to some degree and all prevented from being able to plan or attack anyone!

Exactly. Arrest all suspected and throw them out of the country, revoking their citizenship if necessary.
If they have nowhere to go - tough. Leave them on a raft in the North Sea with a paddle and packed lunch.

Sadiq Khan as a LOT to answer for today.

The Italians have confirmed that they had detained one of the attackers when he was on his way to Syria. The POS said he was going to be a terrorist! He was allowed back into the UK and he was let roam freely around London to murder innocents - all while Khan sat on his ass and all while the Italians submitted all the intelligence reports about this man to the UK. Sadiq Khan needs to explain how that happened, and fast.

Those who call others names such as cockwomble tend to be referring to their own reflection because they not only like to be an.l they like an.l whilst holding on to something that's like a sausage!

If your child had been murdered by these bast.rds you would be different in your view!

Travel ban should be going to SCOTUS soon, and after that you can expect it to be made permanent and expanded.

And maybe include London!
