Federal appeals court largely maintains freeze of Trump’s travel ban

A federal appeals court on Thursday largely left in place the freeze on President Trump’s revised entry ban, handing the administration another legal blow in its efforts to block the issuance of new visas to citizens of six Muslim majority countries.

The ruling from the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 4th Circuit means the Trump administration still cannot enforce its travel order that the government says is urgently needed for national security.

In its 10 to 3 decision, the Richmond-based court said the president’s broad immigration power to deny entry into the U.S. is not absolute.

The courts are speaking. Trump's Muslims ban is just that. A Muslim ban. It is unconstitutional and remains so. Though its not like if they ruled in the other direction the ban would be reinstituted or anything. It's being challenged in two different courts.

Even if the appeals court had sided with the Trump administration, the president’s order would have remained on hold because of a separate opinion from a federal judge in Hawaii.

So it looks like Muslims and notably refugees are still allowed to come into the country, much to Trump's chagrin. Good ole Freedom of Religion. I'm glad its being preserved, even if I don't believe in the crap being worshiped, they still have a right to believe it in peace

But it's not a Muslim ban...

And funnily enough it was the only policy of Trump's I agreed with.

Not surprising coming from the Forth Circuit.

I guess Trump broke another promise, even though it was completely out of his hands on what some judge decides.

I don't think the left will be happy until we have weekly terrorist attacks like Europe.

Thats fine, it'll just go to the Supreme Court.

As with most lefty activists, they're anti-American and put their agenda above the safety of American citizens.

We haven't had weekly terrorist attacks before Trump came in and told us all muslims were dangerous and it won't start with his ban not being implemented either. Stop being hyperbolic.

Because Trump called it one during the election. Though you could always read the OP article and actually deny some ignorance:

Several judges also pointed to the president’s campaign promise to bar Muslims from entry and subsequent statements. They suggested that the court should not ignore those comments when determining whether the order violates the Constitution. The establishment clause of the First Amendment prohibits the government from denigrating a particular religion.
