House majority leader to colleagues in 2016: ‘I think Putin pays’ Trump

A month before Donald Trump clinched the Republican nomination, one of his closest allies in Congress — House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy — made a politically explosive assertion in a private conversation on Capitol Hill with his fellow GOP leaders: that Trump could be the beneficiary of payments from Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“There’s two people I think Putin pays: Rohrabacher and Trump,” McCarthy (R-Calif.) said, according to a recording of the June 15, 2016, exchange, which was listened to and verified by The Washington Post. Rep. Dana Rohrabacher is a Californian Republican known in Congress as a fervent defender of Putin and Russia.

Some of the lawmakers laughed at McCarthy’s comment. Then McCarthy quickly added: “Swear to God.”

I actually think it is the other way around, Trump paid the Russian government there by paying taxes on any business ventures there, same with any business that does business in Russia..

Regardless of their handling of it, the statement is still unsubstantiated opinion is it not? It's hearsay, at best. Especially considering the time frame being during the battle over the Republican candidacy. Infighting and back stabbing is rife at that time in BOTH parties. Until that is, they need something from the front runner, then they are all buddy-buddy and supporting each other.

That's politics, always has been, going back to the Roman era and before.

More baseless accusations, just they were recorded this time.

The Left gets more and more desperate to get something -- anything, on President Trump.

And once again FAILS!

Kevin McCarthy: It was a joke...

Even you cannot believe that President Trump "colluded" with "the Russians" to keep Bill Clinton's wife out of the White House, right?

Really...?

It's just so silly.

The McCarthy statement was clearly a joke, he said it was a joke, and you have not provided evidence to refute that statement.

"I "think" Putin pays Trump". Sounds like a/the definition of an argument. Way to much "thinking", (by people with an agendas) these days and not enough Americans...

I think the bananas in pyjamas are colluding with the Russians, I heard it once on TV.

The above statement is a reflection of the silliness of this whole thing.

Breaking

www.dailystormer.com...

“We have not determined for sure that everyone who voted for Trump was paid directly by the Kremlin, given that it is highly possible that the Russians used a space-beam from a satellite to control their brains from a facility in St. Petersburg, and moved their bodies like puppets to the polls to check the Trump box,” one current agent familiar with the investigation told the times, describing the process of using a satellite-mounted space-beam to control people’s actions as “Russian neuro-brain hacking.”
