Latest German Crime Figures Show Surge in Violent Crime by Migrants

On Monday, the German Interior Ministry released police crime statistics for 2016. They show that 6.33 million offenses were committed last year; this 0.7 percent decrease in comparison with the previous year reflected a decline in robbery, theft and fraud. However, there was a marked increase in violent crime. There was a 14.3 percent increase in murder and manslaughter, a 12.7 percent increase in rape and sexual assault and a 9.9 percent increase in serious assault.

There were almost 250,000 cases of migrants entering the country illegally, a 61.4 percent increase in comparison with the previous year. There was a 14.8 percent increase in weapons offenses and a 7.1 percent increase in drug offenses. According to the statistics, illegal immigrants, refugees and asylum applicants were suspected to be responsible for 174,438 crimes, an increase of 52.7 percent in comparison with the previous year. The number of German crime suspects fell by 3.4 percent to 1,406,184.

Interior Minister Thomas de Maiziere said that the increase in migrant crime was “unacceptable” and promised to expel illegal immigrants who commit criminal acts. “This is nothing to gloss over,” the minister said. “Those who commit serious crimes have forfeited their right to residency.” He told journalists that “really vulnerable” refugees such as Syrians have committed less crime than the average, while illegal migrants from North Africa and Eastern Europe are responsible for a greater proportion. Most often, the perpetrators were young men, a group overrepresented among migrants and asylum seekers. Christian Pfeiffer, a criminologist and former Justice Minister in the state of Lower Saxony, told Sputnik Deutschland that the statistics can be explained in large part by the demographics of recent migration to Germany.In the German population as a whole, the proportion of young males between 14 and 30 is nine percent. Among refugees and migrants as a whole, this proportion rises to 39 percent. Among North Africans, the proportion is 61 percent. “With regard to North Africans, 61 percent are young men,” which explains the rise in violent crime including rape and murder. “With this kind of (demographic) composition, you can’t expect anything else,” Pfeiffer explained.

These migrants in Germany are “isolated young men” without their families, who otherwise might be able to exert some control over them. While war refugees from Iraq, Syria and Afghanistan are able to claim asylum in Germany, economic migrants from countries in North Africa or Eastern Europe that are not at war are being told to return home. These migrants are being told, “You are the wrong ones, we really didn’t want you, we’re sorry you misunderstood the open borders. You can’t stay in Germany, you have to go back.” After a long and dangerous journey to Germany, many of these illegal immigrants are angry and frustrated that they can’t stay there. They commit an “extremely high proportion of violent crime,” and are responsible for offenses such as the New Year’s Eve sex attacks in Cologne, Pfeiffer said.

Infowars, really?

Given that Jones and his crew are usually full of poop, at best they grossly over exaggerate, and this story doesn't seem to hold much water. All they did was link a German crime report but don't actually cite where they came up with their information, which is typical of their BS tactic since they assume most people won't click their source and certainly won't verify it once they see it's in German.

And just to nit-pick, that Infowar article is poorly written and the editor should proof read before submitting.

A. It's infowars, not known for impartiality

B. It says crimes where suspected illegal immigrants refugees and asylum seekers committed them totalled 174,438, but suspected national Germans totalled over 1.4 million........

So German nationals are suspected as being the criminals in a minimum of 87.5% of all crimes and the rest are all down to people who are not German nationals. Seems like a law abiding set of German nationals doesn't it.

And for all of them, even infowars has to admit are 'suspects' not 'convicted'

Isn't there some right wing website you should be sending this to who won't look at the actual figures and wonder why 1.4 million German nationals are suspected of committing 87.5% of crimes in the country?

Doesn't mean the fact that the crimes happened aren't true. The crimes committed did happen and this is a REAL issue. Infowars brings this stuff to light because we all know the MSM has a black out on these events. So what if they suck at writing a decent article. The events are true...

How do we know that the muslims that committed these crimes where not in fact responding to attacks themselves. In self defense, then when some white male "authority" figure shows up they blame the muslim and charge them with a crime.

These stats are questionable, and frankly not scientific. They hold no more weight than my trained liberal senses.

Did you even read the actual (badly translated article)? At which point exactly does it talk about number of people convicted as guilty of committing any crime? Go read again, come back when you've done so.

If Jones and his crew wanted to bring things into light then they should cite the source itself, not the homepage. This is how they hid the BS made up facts because they know their readers aren't gonna surf a webpage in German to verify if what they wrote is true.

Oh maybe because there were witnesses. The police here aren't doing a thing to solve the issues. They make a report on all the incidents but don't investigate futhure due to potential backlash from local govt officials blaming their own citizens for stereotyping migrants as being brutal.

You see the hypocrisy yet? No? Ok. So its the plain and simple action of European officials going out of their way to ensure they make extra measures and care more than their own citizens safety. I guess you don't understand.

Sorry to burst your bubble but crimes by anyone are reported by the media if the crime is considered newsworthy - any right wing media source will wet itself to cover a foreigner being suspected of any crime but not always so much if the suspect is not a foreigner.

And if you haven't read other posts by the OP which tend to usually all be about bad muslim immigrants destroying western civilisation as we know it, then get over yourself if some of us have and know that the OP never takes a balanced approach.

I don't need to because unlike some of you Infowars isn't the only news website available on the internet. I don't need a an amateur journalist to tell me migrants have been running loose on the streets doing whatever they want it seems like without a policeman in sight or even arrested. But a terrorist attack happens and they are all of a sudden trying to lock up anyone they can get their hands on.
