"Researchers have found a way to protect a mouse's DNA from the damage that comes with aging, and they’re ready to test it in people.
Dr. David Sinclair, from Harvard Medical School, and his colleagues reveal their new findings in the latest issue of Science. They focused on an intriguing compound with anti-aging properties called NAD+, short for nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide. It's been known that younger mice had more of it than older mice and back in 2013, the researchers found that when they boosted the NAD+ levels in older mice, they looked, biologically, like much younger animals.

Wow. Reversal of DNA aging. So far in just mice but it works really really good. Actual physical reverse aging.

Who wants to be 21 again??

What do you think will go wrong with this???

Who wants to be 21 again??

With what I know now as opposed to what I knew then?

Me! Me!

Wait. On second thought. I might not have as much fun because I would realize how stupid a lot of stuff I did was even though it was fun at the time.

Now I'm confused.

Ya, but you can totally avoid all that stupid stuff this time and just do the really cool stuff instead of again.

Sounds good.......but think of what the consequences might be.

Personally, even if it's totally on the level and works great. I don't think Humanity needs this. Well, most of humanity anyway. A lot of people just in general are A-holes. I don't want to live with them forever.

Not me.

28 was pretty cool though. That's when I finally didn't have to show my ID, birth cert, and letter from my parents.

I was young looking

That's true. You can still die normally. You just don't die of old age. The idea of this is just creepy though. Although it would get rid of the idea of Golddiggers. You can be 200 years old and still look 25 now I guess.

But this also means the wealthy, greedy, power mad people would never die. They'll just keep taking and taking forever.

Yes.

There are some people that really just need to go.

Cool but there have to be side effects. You know what they say if it sounds too good to be true it usually is.

If this works in people you can bet your ass we'll see a major campaign to wipe out most of the people on earth. Because the rich and powerful would then be able to live as long as they want and would want to preserve as much of the earth as possible since they'll have to keep living with it. But our population is way too big to not have people dying and people breeding.

They'd have to wipe out most of the earths people and only keep who they deem worthy while not destroying earths resources too.

You know that's how it would go.

No need to wipe anyone out. Just withhold treatment. Let them live their short little lives. Let them provide the things we need.

Pretty standard fare when it comes to long lived vs. the rest.

We breed faster than we die off though.

They'd have to sterilize us first then let us die naturally.

Heinlein turned it around. Long lived became the pariah.

Until the "treatment" became available. Of course, but by then the stars were ours.

Maybe those are Harvard's test subjects!

On a more serious note, this would be a total game changer if it turns out to be real. If you thought overpopulation was a problem before, wait until they release this stuff...
