Just curious if there is anybody out there that has never actively tried to erase their internet history and temporary files.

Of course there are a multitude of reasons one might actively choose to erase their internet history - some positive (hide trails of you booking a surprise holiday for your spouse), some negative (attempting to hide another relationship from your partner) and neutral (clean files on your computer so it runs more smoothly).

Unless you live on your own and are a goody two shoes, I cannot see too many people answering yes to this question.

I have erased my internet history many times. While it hasn't always been for strictly positive reasons, I can say that it has never been done to for deceptive reasons.

Have you never attempted to erase your internet history and/or temporary files?

Are you talking about browser history? If that is the case, then no, I haven't cleared that since I don't share a computer with anyone. I use my work device for personal use as well. I do clear the cache every once in awhile but that is about it.

Not like anyone is going to know I visit crazymidgetporn.com 5 times a day.

But really, who expects anyone to be looking over your Meta data shoulder anyway?

Same.
I do share my laptop with my daughter on occasion (If she needs to research or print something for school) but, I don't have a habit of clearing my history.
I don't know why anyone would look...
When the kiddos go to their dad's though, I do remind him to clear HIS because...reasons...

I used to do that on windows before, I knew how to do it. I tried what I knew on windows ten and it said it happened but it didn't, all the info was still there. I suppose I should actually find how to do that, but I do not do much that is controvercial or illegal anyway, so I am not worried.

I do fairly often as much browsing you can get bogged down. I'm in IT, I give questionable material a wide berth, but the old iPad needs it cleared quite often to free up memory or else it has a noticeable lag.

CCleaner FTW on desktops

You can't be really really serious? I've got and had dozens and dozens of multiple type devices.. Deleting is common, necessary , easy. And I've totally wiped and removed entire drives onsite webs histories...

So I have NO idea if you're serious, joking... or just not asking the question the right way!

For the longest time I would never clear my browser history, but I became a neat freak (with the computer, not with the rest of my house/car/other things), and now I clear my history just for the sake of it pretty much twice a week on all of my devices. I don't look at, go to, or do anything bad online, I just like to keep things running smoothly like the OP said as a neutral reason.

But yeah up until a few years ago, I never cleaned anything from my browser.

I run the ole' ccleaner every other week.
Most of my entire pc history gone.
Disk Cleanup every now and then is also good.

Nothing to hide, just a nice gaming rig I like to keep running smoothly.

What I would do OP if I were you is:

1. Delete your entire history on your computer by using this tool:

2. Advanced SystemCare Ultimate 10 (free)
