Patriot's owner Kraft hopes Trump can get back Superbowl Ring Putin stole in 2005

When i first saw this I must admit I thought it was 'fake news', but after finding several sources and a 2013 AtS thread I now know it to be true.
Sometimes fact is stranger than fiction. The ring apparently is now on display at the Kremlin. Robert Kraft told Fox news that he hopes his friend, President Trump can assist him in getting his ring back.

“I do have an emotional attachment to that ring,” Kraft said Sunday of the $25,000 piece of jewelry the owner allowed to Putin to try on after he admired it during a 2005 meeting.

“I could kill someone with this ring,” Putin reportedly said, according to Kraft back in 2013. When Kraft put out his hand to get his ring back, Putin — surrounded by three KGB agents — pocketed the ring and left the room.

And the pilfered ring actually led to Kraft getting a call from the White House, asking for the owner to be diplomatic about it.

“It would really be in the best interest of US-Soviet relations if you meant to give the ring as a present,” Kraft has said he was told on the White House call.

“I really didn’t [want to]. I had an emotional tie to the ring, it has my name on it. I don’t want to see it on eBay. There was a pause on the other end of the line, and the voice repeated, ‘It would really be in the best interest if you meant to give the ring as a present.’ ”

So the White House pressured Kraft into saying the ring was a gift, even though it was a lie.

I don't think Kraft will ever get his ring back even with Trump's help. But it is a just crazy that a world leader would actually steal a Superbowl Ring and brag about killing someone with it. What a class act he is. A thief and a killer.

Putin straight up jacks Kraft, pays him in a smile, and gets his goons to flex on him.
Then the punk presidents henchman call him and say, "just let it slide homie, no sense in getting smoked for your shines."

Why does the article say KGB? That was the term used during the soviet union for the spy agency.
They are called FSB as far as I know.

Isn't this like calling the CIA the OSS?

Im not condoning what Putin did if its true ( and I believe it is) but I mean cmon, can you imagine the look on the blokes face as a world leader walks off with his ring in his pocket HAHAHA

Its just such an absurd situation to be in that its hilarious, Id love it if Trump got it back

I hope Trump doesn't, not only because nobody cares but also because that was a pretty badass move on Putin's part. I wasn't even into politics back then and still remember hearing the story and thinking damn, Putin's a beast, hahaha.

He is ex-KGB. Prior to the fall of the Soviet Union, Putin was KGB.

From 1975 - 1991 he was a Lieutenant Colonel in the KGB.

He's got enough rings already, Putin want him to get a feel of democrat tactics. I mean he didn't build that ring!!

Yeah I know Putin "was" KGB but calling them KGB now just sounds like some throw back to the cold war.
Maybe I really need to read the article instead of the posted blurb if it refers to them as ex KGB.

I have seen KGB used in the present tense several other times as if the agency still exists and the Soviet Union never collapsed back in the 90's maybe its sounds more edgy and gets more attention to say KGB instead of FSB.

Actually it says three KGB agents as if it is still an active agency did he know all three of these people were former KGB?

Well Trump should be able to handle something this stupid without screwing it up. It's a ring from a sporting event not a one of a kind heirloom. If he's that upset about it just get another one made it's not like he can't afford it.

I have several rings, a few of which a very sentimental and mean a lot to me. I would never take them off for anyone to inspect, or god forbid, try on. I have others that dont mean as much to me. Those ill gladly let another see.
If it was that important to him, he wouldnt have taken it off. Just think, "Can i inspect and try on your wedding ring?"
