Mods: please move if necessary.

I was looking for some antique advertisements for wall decoration the other night, and ran across a bunch of these. My girlfriend and I were up laughing half the night! Makes you wonder how we made it this far looking back at turn of the century medicine.
Please post your favorites here!!!

Balding? Why no throw a lil coc aine on it:

Suffering from asthma? Good ol Dr. Batty's (priceless) got you covered!!! as long as youre older then....SIX!!!

If Dr Batty's Asthma Cigarettes still leave you with a cough, just grab an over the counter bottle of.....

Not strong enough? Why not try....

Or how bout....

All that stuff got you constipated? Give the 'Rotorector' a 'spin'....

If somehow you develop a dependency, (idk how with this cutting edge medicine) just get yourself a bottle of....

I have a replica Sears and Roebuck catalog from 1900. They had elixirs that would cure anything back then!

My personal favorites were the ones using radium, I guess those came right after the Victorian Era though. Also, using kerosene as cough syrup. Yuck!

A glass of brandy before bed really does help you sleep better. In 1612 physicians said to drink a glass of brandy before bedtime to help ward off insomnia and helps with arthritic pain during sleep.

Guess what? It does help.

I remember as a kid when I had a bad cold basically some hot water, whisky and a drop of sugar before going to bed would work wonders, least its legal for that here in the UK unlike some places where you'd be arrested

Vic's menthol rub as well was a good solid cure if its still available.

Pity they did change the gripe water as it was the alchies morning pick me up as it was about 80% and was not subject to our licensing laws as they were at the time and was pretty cheap as well.

Queen Victoria herself like a bit of the weed to control the time of the month when she wasn't pumping them out.

But its better than what went before with lead face paint etc.

I love these too.
Thanks to my grandmother, I have some very old medicine and creams and oil bottles in a cabinet in my bathroom. Prescriptions used to come in glass containers. Really neat containers, and labels on some of the old bottles.

I was doing ressearch for paper in middle school and got a book that had an old love letter written by one of the old psychiatrists when he was high on coke. He got all kinds of randy and attributed it all the power of his meds! It was really funny.

By FAR my favorite old time medical cure:
Are you drowning by any chance?
How about a big cloud of tobacco smoke blown up your butt?
